How can one keep up with all the slander?

Congratulations; that is remarkably close for a self-assesment from a "leftie". You do sound somewhat confused, so let me clarify.

Yes, there are snooty leftist elites with lots of money. Not that they earned any of it for themselves, and that's the rub. Much of it comes from their rich, hard working, Republican parents. The rest of the liberal elite's money pool comes from the entertainment industry. A rather clueless group to whom vast amounts of money are re-directed from an otherwise value based economy. With their vast unearned wealth, and relatively listless unproductive lifestyles, comes the innevitable guilt. This is where welfare recipients come in.

These wealthy liberals, wracked with guilt, feel as though they have to "help" some one. They also have to get their leaders elected, but realize there aren't enough wealthy, listless elites to do so. Thus, a happy marriage is born - liberal elites "help" welfare recipients, promissing to do so forever, in exchange for their votes.

So you see there is room for both in the Democratic party. They need each other; their system would not work without this synergy. The rich elites' opinions would not matter because they would lack politcal clout without the lifetime welfare rats' voting block. Without the political "help" provided by the officials they do mamage to elect, working class America would demand that the welfare class get off their collective butts and get to work, like the rest of us. Anyway, I hope that clears it up a bit for you. You're welcome.

Up the Xanex a couple of pills a day and maybe drop the Prilosec and the Miltown. :)

Call me in week if you're still posting sentences like this on the internet.

That is one deranged view of world. Every time one of you right wingers posts hateful, bizarre crap like this, it pushes me further left -- away from you.

Joe, you don't honestly believe that, do you? I'm in full agreement about the pathetic state of the Dems, but I'm missing this "vision" and hard work of the Repubs. Extraordinary govt bloat, unprecedented debt to other countries, an economy that is arguably "growing" on smoke and mirrors.
Todd, it may not be everyone but I sure am! Almost all of my friends volunteer for some part time work at various places, some political, some places for the homeless.

Agree that the spending has to stop but come on guys, the senate and house are made up of reps of both parties. This is not coming only from the White House. Yes, the repubs are in control but they do not author all of these bills and are not the root of all evil.

One thing I would love to see is not a "line item veto" but a complete and total elimination of any "add ons" to any bill. Introduce a bill and vote on it as it is, nothing extra tacked on and no "riders" so to speak. This crap of tacking something onto a bill that has nothing to do with the basic bill needs to stop, along with the "pork barrel" bs that both sides of the house has done for years.

In case everyone has not noticed, I slammed both parties in the above post. We both are at fault and it needs to be stopped. The sooner we stop squabbling and start working in a forwards motion the better.

Joe, the party in power controls committees and what gets voted on. The party in power must take responsibility for the national scene, they go hand in hand.

Exactly. Additionally, congress does not determine how to conduct the war. They just determine what to provide as far as money...and congress hasn't turned down one request for same.

Rummy is the one who makes the decisions on conducting this war...and whether to ignore generals, direct troops to do things (like protect the borders of Iraq)...etc. This has nothing to do with anyone except the admin.

I thought I was. Actually no, I guess I am sitting down...

So you liked that, huh Shaun? I was rather proud of it myself. ;)

Now since you two seem to appreciate my comic genius, and propensity for utter b.s., could you take Rodeo aside and get him to lighten up a bit?. He is taking all of this way too seriously.

The Republicans are enjoying a hopefully short-lived, unprecedented control over all 3 branches of government for the last 5 years. Newt Gingrich could have only dreamed of such a scenario. In that time, they have taken a country handed to them in the best health ever and a world relatively at peace and given us what we have now. Nearly everyone save oil company executives and large Halliburton share holders has seen their lives decrease in quality, and even those cogsuckers are living in a diminished world.

If anything, and I mean anything, was going in the right direction at this time, Republicans would be taking 100% credit for it, not sharing it w/ the neutered Democrats still in office. Right? ;)

So let's just call a ball a ball and a strike a strike. If I had a little higher opinion of the average American voter, I would say that at least maybe after these guys we will never have another fake cowboy idiot candidate elected w/ nothing more than some slogans designed for the masses, but I do not have high hopes on that one.

Ok, I'll have some turkey and whatever it is in the bird that makes you sleep will do its trick, and then I'll feel better :)

So you were kidding, right? You're not really a wacko?

speeder 11-23-2005 12:04 PM

Weird joke if it was, but then I've never understood right-wing gallows humor.

U really don't quiet get it do you Dennis...First the "Best Health Ever"....that was back in the Early 1960's... "A world relativily at peace".....Rwanda....Kosovo.....NO the perception in the US was a "World relativily at peace"....cause NO ONE was paying attention....the USA was in Party Mode...after the Cold War...and "End of History" but the world has been and always will be a dangerous place...

"Diminished world" ...you got one right so far...by why is it "diminished"....one reason....TOO MANY PEOPLE ON THE PLANET....it is putting hugh strains on the resources of this Planet...and just like too many rats in a cage...mankind reacts badly...

"Fake Cowboy Idiot Canidate"...My Gawd what were the choichs....Bush, Gore, Kerry...ALL TOP DRAWER CHOICHS I ASSURE U...LOL....U get a choich between Frick and Frack...all canidates have to be certified approved...by the establishment...institutions...Not much choich really...

So Dennis take a look around and stop taking your cues from ABC network news...In the scheme of things Bush is just a blip on the radar screen..and will be gone in 2009 ...But the Federal Govt and the Big Corps will always be with you....

Yes; sort of. And no, sort of. Just having fun with the O.T. game. Hell, if I truly believed half the stuff I read here (and post myself) I would well and truly believe we are in trouble. Hanging out with this dysfunctional "family" on O.T. reasures me, in a weird kind of way, that things are probably alright with the world. And I believe it's tryptophan (in the bird) and whisky (in the glass). I plan on enjoying both tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
