Gas < $2 per gallon!

Almost fell out of my seat today on the way in to work...several Shell stations had regular unleaded for $1.99...first time I've seen the sub $2 level in a while...

I paid $2.35 this morning for 89. But at least they charged me to put air in my tires.

Its Bush's fault. He hates cheap gas because we would be happy.

My theory is that retail gas has been quite a bit overpriced for a while, I see lots of stations here still trying to sell regular for ~$2.60 while others including Mobil and Shell are at $2.31 in my neighborhood. The greedy station owners are trying to milk the situation from the people who don't know how much it has fallen, (and not selling a lot of gas), while the $2.31 guys have lines to get in.

At the street level the free market works, but it's still the old story where it goes up really fast when oil rises, and comes down really slow when the market goes the other way.

I say we put those oil executives in front of Congress one more time and see it drop to 99 cents.

Scared straight.

Nevermind the pump price, the wholesale barrel price is the one to watch. Check it out:

http://www.bloomberg.com/energy/

Question: Tons of media pot & pan banging when the wholesale price went above $60/bbl, but not a word when it drops below. Why?

Thumbs up

If that F-350 is a 6.0 Powerstroke Diesel, it gets ~20 mpg highway empty the way you see it. And smokes the rear tires w/ a chip installed, (600 lbs. of torque).

Yeah baby!

Isn't diesel a little expensive these days compared to gas?

Diesel fuel prices are related to heating oil prices, which are related to natural gas prices.

I read something that refineries were producing more home heating oil and less diesel and the prices reflected this..
