My Wife rocks
Throughout the years Beth has endured the grease under the nails, the carb re-builds on the coffee table and the countless hours making things faster or louder etc. Today takes the cake, I removed the plastic cover from the engine lid and scrubbed it in the kitchen sink. Then hung it in front of the fireplace to dry before making it all shiny. Her only coment was what would I like for dinner and when would I be ready to eat.
She is even starting to like the garage, or as it has come to be known "Ricks house of speed and Porsche emporium"

My wife respects my garage and my tools. She uses them once in a while but ALWAYS puts them back pretty darn close to where they go.
Great thread, BTW. Hopefully the wives will "accidently" check it out.

When you find a good one, she is well worth keeping. There are more than enough out there who are not like this and posts like this give us single guys a bit of hope!

She got more than one sister ?
I need a new spouse. My current woman is all about her self. Any time wasted, money spent on me personally is a personal insult to her. I have three kids from a previous marriage, not living with us. I really wanted to do something worth while for them so I am taking them to Spain next week for a weeks holiday. Just me and them for some quality time. My woman gives me hell. How can be so mean as to prioritize them before her (even if its just for a lousy week) ??!!!! She has been going at me so hard about this that I am starting to think she is right. I have really bad conscience now. Who is wrong here ?

You might sit the current spouse down and give her a "come to Jesus" talk. Tell her that you are not going to separate from your children, its just not going to happen. You can and will separate from the woman if she continues in her current manner. Its something that you may need to do to save your sanity and relationship with your children. This means that if she is going to remain with you that she is going to have to accept the fact that you have kids and are going to spend time with them. If she cannot accept this then its time to set her free and let her go and terrorize another mans world. There are enough good ladies out there that its not worth wasting your time with one who does not understand this. I assume that she does not have kids? Most ladies with children might not like it but sure understand the way it is and will at least work with a Father in this area. Life is far too short to remain in a relationship that is not working. Do what you can to get it back on track or move on, but then I am not in your shoes. JoeA

Livi,
Sorry to hear about your plight. I can tell you that if the spouse/girfriend/boyforeind is not into the kids, it's time to go buh-bye. My first marriage was to a woman with a child. I never accepted her as mine ans it was NEVER going to work that way. The kids must come first. I purposely married my current wife because she had no kids and was never married. She was 26 and I 33. I have never been happier. Sure, we aren't perfect and fight a bit now and then but I wouldn't change a thing about her. Sorry, got a little rambly. Kids deserve a step parent that loves them as much or close to as much as the real parent. Hope this helps a bit. (Jeez, do you do drink much? What with your job and sounds like stress at home you should be a raging alcoholic. Hope not.)

So's mine even after 36 years. Think I'll keep her a while longer. Today took her to see the Cayman which arrived Wednseday at a local dealer. She likes it a lot. Hope she still likes it when her X5 lease runs out so she can get that while I keep ol red and a cheap suv for hauling crap.
