XB360 - reviews coming in.....

Well, true to my expectations of Microsuck, they have apparently released the XB360 in much the same manner as they did their Windoze products - lots of hype & lots of bugs.

Reportedly, many people who purchased the first run of XB360s are experiencing system crashes like this one.
article 1
article 2

Of course, the original xbox went through 7 firmware revisions, iirc, to correct and improve bugs. And there was that pesky problem of burning your house down.

I even remember reading that the initial run of PS2 systems also had a very high failure rate. I guess that's just the nature of the business.

I picked mine up on Tuesday and so far i'm pretty impressed. The capabilities are what the original xbox should have been. I don't have a real good review at this point but like I said so far it's pretty cool.

No problems from my "xBox Classic". I did not do the whole game fanatic thing to buy an XB360. My post was passing along info from a racing friend who is having problems with his... like 15 minutes out of the box. Found the web articles while trying to find some support info.

I thought xb something was a new tire. Showing my age but what's this doing here? Shouldn't it be in \a website playroom somewhere that deals in games?

Apparently M$ mad the XB360 w/ a screw-less case ( well, almost), to make it as difficult as possible to open the
case without breaking it, in hopes of thwarting would-be modders. Didn't take long for someone to post a "How To" .

Check it out, nice pictures and description of the inner workings of the SB360.

It's MSFT--when did anything they produce work the first time around? Or the second? Or the third...?

PS I love misguided OT police who don't even read the forum rules .

I have rolled out nearly every back office product MS had made in the past 10 years. Their current line of products are very solid out of the box. NT was off course a different issue....
