Ramsey Clark is so much more than a “left wing activist” and “anti-war advocate”. Clark is a Saddam apologist who is responsible for an anti-American group masquerading as an anti-war protest organizer.
After Lyndon Johnson left office, Ramsey Clark became the poster boy for the far left. He began supporting anyone that was against America. Clark visited with Qaddafi after the US bombed Libya. He even represented the PLO in a lawsuit filed by the family of murdered American, Leon Klinghoffer. Clark headed the National Coalition to Stop US Intervention in the Middle East for the World Worker’s Party – a well-known Communist group. Clark went on to represent Milosevic in his war crimes trial. He also befriended Iraqi leaders, including Saddam Hussein. Clark even helped CBS and Dan Rather set up the interview with Saddam that aired prior to the war. Ramsey Clark is the founder of the International Action Center (IAC) and remains very active with the group. International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) is an offshoot of the IAC. Clark is a coalition sponsor for ANSWER. The headquarters for IAC and ANSWER are located at 38 W 14th St., Room 206 in New York. This is the exact same address as Millions for Mumia, Iraq Sanctions Challenge, Peace for Cuba, US out of Korea Committee, People’s Video Network and the Coalition to Stop US Intervention in the Middle East. The official ANSWER website lists their coalition co-signers. The list includes representatives from Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), World Worker’s Party, Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization (IFCO), numerous foreign Communist groups, Socialist organizations and more. A major sponsor of the anti-war protests, ANSWER provided speakers that touted some of ANSWER’s pet causes. Other than the war in Iraq and Bush hatred, “Free Mumia” (the convicted cop killer) was the most popular topic. ANSWER’s protest signs usually carried slogans such as “vote no war” and “impeach Bush”. Ramsey Clark was the driving force behind the call for impeachment of President Bush. He wrote up Articles of Impeachment for President Bush, VP Cheney, Sec. of Defense Rumsfeld and Attorney General John Ashcroft. The articles were published one of Clark’s website, www.votetoimpeach.org. Ramsey Clark hangs out with other self-proclaimed icons of the far left crowd. During the Vietnam War protests, Clark appeared with John Kerry and Jane Fonda. Cindy Sheehan has given speeches at protest rallies sponsored by Ramsey Clark and his group. Lynne Stewart, the attorney convicted of assisting terrorist communication, is an ally of Clark. NewsBusters Clark endorsed John Kerry |

Again, from what my buds write me, the spectacle of this trial is of tremendous value. If SH can be brought to some form of justice, in front of a country he butchered, then there is real value in the process. It took this country thirteen years to get it right...hopefully the miracle of modern communication will shorten Iraq's struggle to be free. |

Clark is affiliated with VoteToImpeach, an organization advocating the impeachment of President George W. Bush. From his record, I would think he would be defending Bush should he ever stand trial. |

As to Lawyers that will defend anyone.....it's OUR LEGAL system that REQUIRES it. I don't know WHAT system they are using in Iraq but it probably isn't ours. It may be a mix of Islamic and Napoleonic law that allows for the rules they are working under. One would think that the world would have been better off if Saddam had "gone for his gun" while being flushed out of his spider hidey hole.....happens all the time over here.....media calls it suicide by cop.....or saving John Q Public the cost of a trial. |
