How not to start a Monday

Driving home at 03h00 this morning, pretty much minding my own business when a pedestrian decides to take on my car. (NOT the p-car!)

Nett result is a dented left fender (that must have hurt!), and a pretty much screwed up right-hand side, from sideswiping a steel barrier in my attempt to avoid the guy. He seemed to be OK enough, as he got up and ran away, but here I am now stuck with police reports, insurance dealings, and basically all the mess that comes with hitting a pedestrian. Don't even mention the inconvenience that comes with having to book my car in for repairs!

Important note:

Nothing can quite spoil your day like spending two hours in a South African police station, trying to give a statement to an illiterate. Sure hope they can make sense of what they wrote down...

Roll on Tuesday...

Must have been wanted by the law to run like that. Usually they jump infront of the car so you'll pay, lol. Hopefully he walks with a severe limp now.

That problem is not unique to South Africa......

I started my day by squealing to a stop to avoid someone backing out of their driveway onto a main road. I managed to stop in time, but the car behind me nailed me. The guy who had backed out left the scene, saying "well I wasn't in an accident, YOU GUYS were", even though he had clearly caused the accident.
