If the guy is acting normal and you are sure he is using the litter box he is ok. A vet visit wouldn't hurt. I have to say, that is a pretty rapid weight gain. I am hoping you scale is off or the weighing process is in error.

He is using the litterbox as usual. No strange activity there...
I've been home with him all morning so far, and he actually is looking a little better (thinner). Maybe I just didin't realize how big he really was before I left. In any case, I'm going to keep an eye on him while I'm off for the rest of the week and if he still looks weird I'll take him to the vet. He bit my ankle twice today so far, so he is definitely his same old self!
