If we Build it, will they Buy it.
This is one of the Projects we are working on, my business partner Fred Does thought/ drew this bad boy up, designed it to work with late model Vett platform. So what do you guys think??

I kinda like it...the retro muscle car thing is really big right now...
Course will have to see a prototype to really get an idea. Cool drawing though. |
Too many concepts stolen from too many collectable cars. Try again.

BTW, Fred spent time with Zora Arkus-Duntov at the SEMA show a while back and showed him another rendering, the ZR-C1 is the result of that time. |

Top notch drawings, but they're both a bit much for me. Retro never did it for me, I like cars that look forward, not back. Judging from the success of the PT Cruiser, Beetle, Mustang, etc, there are many people that dig the retro look though.

I think that's what it's based on.

So Byron, you're talking of building "kustoms" for those who cruise the neon row, "making the scene" down there in Florida? Carol Doda bodies atop a modern chassis? If so, go for it...those folks will buy anything, even watches costing more than $300K. If you're talking of something that will turn the crank of a true gearhead? Better do better...
|
Interesting idea, will the kit car haters (baby jesus cry) crowd like it? No, but that's not your market either.;)
|
Atractive from the drawing, but i realy wonder how the rear end is going to come off. Would I buy? No, can't even afford the Vette to build it on.

That's not a 550. What the hell is that? Is it coming or going. It looks like a Magnum with the hood from a 911. Nope, won't tickle the testies of people whole love 550s.
|
I don't mind criticism, but if you're going to do it at least spell check.

There was a C4 Vette rebody kit at SEMA based on the '62 model.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1133971402.jpg I wonder how big the market is for Vette rebodies? |
First drawing looks great!
But whatever you do, don't bastardize it with 20" chome wheels and rubberband like that wacko Foose. |
Cool stuff.
Mmmm Hemi.... Mmmm :D -Z |
Looks cool.

You know, speaking of the whole retro muscle car thing, I'd like to see another Charger, but not the POS that Dodge did. Done more like how Ford did that new Mustang - more traditional.

They may be coming out with a Challenger in 2009.

So are you going to build it?

Not just a concept drawing. It will probably be at the Detroit Auto Show http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1134406745.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1134406760.jpg |
swweeeet!
|
I think it looks great, the CR-Z1 that is, good luck. I also like the '09 Challenger.

Thanks, this isn't the 1st time that Fred has done this, just not to this scale. Here is a truch that he dreamed/build up this F150 back in the 90s. This is the drawing, and the truck is currently driving around the Dallas area, I saw it back Aug. I talked to Chuck Beck (Beck 550 fame) about this project not long ago when they were testing Beck 904 now that is a very sweet new ride and he was full of great advise. So, yes we are planning on building it.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1134435684.jpg
