Hey Coooool

Yesterday I gave you a book to read "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" by William Shirer. I think you should read it as it chronicles one of the MOST SIGNIFICANT events of the past 100 years. It would give you a broader base of knowledge to make more informed opinions when discussing politics.

Shirers book was written in the 1960s and is considered the DEFINATIVE book on Nazi Germany. Shirer had first hand experience in dealing with the Nazi regime, as a reporter in Germany in the 1930s. He also wrote another more personal book called Berlin Diary in the 1940's.

Good Reading Cool....

Yep - I read it a long time ago (in junior high, actually). Very good and informative book.

I read it tabs, a long time ago. I should reread it though, it's been a while.

"more informed opinion when discussing politics?" LOL.

Just because I don't think your analogy yesterday was accurate, I'm now "not informed?"

what a laugh.

But thanks for suggesting it, and putting the bug in my head to read it again, it's been a while....

Ohhh you read it...OK....

Cool get a grip....everybody can have a MORE INFORMED opinion... even the President himself.

Frankly I found Shirers book to be tedious...

Maybe Albert Speers first book....

The "Rise and Fall" is a classic and must read for history buff's. Other books that are on my "must read list" are:

The Source by James Michener
Atlas Schrugged by Ayn Rand

If someone reads these three books from time to time it will both open your eyes and make you think a bit, both of which are a good thing. They will also keep you out of the bars as each is well over 1000 pages!

I went the less informed way and watched the movie "Der Untergang" (or however its spelled). Rather tedious too, I am afraid..

Try reading any of the historical fiction books by the Shaara's. Father or son.

Entertaining reads and you will learn a great deal. I have read them all... Killer Angels, Gods and Generals, etc...and just finished To the Last Man. This particualr novel was about WW1. It did not disappoint. Equally as good, if not better than the previous novels.

I used to bring childrens' books to work and have "story time" for my staff. We'd huddle around a chair and I'd read poems and childrens' books. Leadership comes in many forms.
