1st Degree Murder for known "Road Rager"

About a month ago there was a horrific accident on a highway right near where I live. Two people were killed. The accident was caused by and a**hole who has a long history of "road rage" (and other) incidents. The local DA is going to charge him with 2 counts of first degree murder, which if he is found guilty will give two sentencing options death or life without parole. It is good to see them taking this case very seriously. The link here is a short follow up story from the Denver paper but you can read the other stories from there.

The Arapahoe County District Attorney is adding charges of driving under the influence of drugs and reckless driving Monday night, when Reynolds was arrested.
This is confusing, why was he not charged with DUI first?

That was uncalled for--the guy did change lanes to allow him to pass.

The DUI charge stems from the day they arrested him, the police knew he drives this particular road frequently and pulled him over, he was high when they did. This guy apparently has pulled this particular pull in front and brake stunt many times before. He actually tried to become a sherriff a few years ago.

Yep, the guy needs to fry.

First off... there needs to be a national push for recognition of the simple fact that - the left lane is the FAST/PASSING lane. If you're in the left lane, and someone is coming up on you, MOVE OVER. If people are passing you on your right, MOVE OVER.

Second, intentionally causing someone a fatal collision should be murder.
