CLINTON ADMINISTRATION SECRET SEARCH ON AMERICANS -- WITHOUT COURT ORDER

CARTER EXECUTIVE ORDER: 'ELECTRONIC SURVEILLANCE' WITHOUT COURT ORDER

Bill Clinton Signed Executive Order that allowed Attorney General to do searches without court approval

Clinton, February 9, 1995: "The Attorney General is authorized to approve physical searches, without a court order"

WASH POST, July 15, 1994: Extend not only to searches of the homes of U.S. citizens but also -- in the delicate words of a Justice Department official -- to "places where you wouldn't find or would be unlikely to find information involving a U.S. citizen... would allow the government to use classified electronic surveillance techniques, such as infrared sensors to observe people inside their homes, without a court order."

Deputy Attorney General Jamie S. Gorelick, the Clinton administration believes the president "has inherent authority to conduct warrantless searches for foreign intelligence purposes."

Secret searches and wiretaps of Aldrich Ames's office and home in June and October 1993, both without a federal warrant.

Jimmy Carter Signed Executive Order on May 23, 1979: "Attorney General is authorized to approve electronic surveillance to acquire foreign intelligence information without a court order."

I'm guessing the hypocricy is that you don't support illegal actions in this case because these two presidents are democrats....but you defend Bush's illegal actions because he's Bush.

Hypocritical indeed.

As I said in my other post.

If this is your only defence then you have no defence.

How many wrongs make a right.

The point is that the gubmint has been round this maypole before and they consider these actions within the Presidents powers. Otherwise Carter and Clinton would have been removed from office, right? Did I even miss the hearings on this for them?

So, get over yourselves, thisdog don't hunt. But feel free to try:)

Yes, they should've been removed from office. Anyone who supports breaking the law is nuts.

I was too young to care about what happened with Carter or Clinton.

My name is mud.

All of the Presidents consulted the Government lawyers and were advised that they were within their powers. That is my understanding.

The implication here is that Bush said "Yea it's illegal, but Fukc you I'm the King"

That is not the case, he was told he had the powers.

The reason I said that is because everytime I hear someone say "thisdog don't hunt" it reminds me of a Primus tune.

Hypocritical indeed.

At least Bush isn't abusing the power, whereas Clinton used the IRS and illegally obtained FBI files on his enemies.

You wonder why Trent Lott, and several other Republicans, rolled over in favor of the Senate Democrats during impeachment.

No k9, he lied to obstruct the judicial process, a judicial process that he signed into law, a judicial process that Clinton used to imprison Barbara Battalino.

Just to straighten that out for you.

Toby, you are at least partially correct. He lied about a lot of things and was caught in the BJ situation, lying to the entire nation and world.

Wonderful role model for you guys...

Thanks,

Joe A

He luckily had a complicit press and a whore running the Justice Department. His lies persist to this day, including deadly lies that leave our nation without a full account of what broke down on 9-11 (as Sandy Bergler stole relevant and senstive information at Clinton's request).

Superman 12-21-2005 08:26 AM

Poor guy. He'll probably be badgered from all sides for the next three years. He may escape being tarred and feathered, but the White House will not be a joyful place until he's gone.
