Merry Christmas, friends!

I thought I should send my cyber-family a Christmas card. This is a picture of my kids. It's not a great picture, but it captures their personalitys pretty well. Justin and Anna are taking their little sister Brynn for a ride on the steam train at Tilden Park.

I am recovering from shoulder surgery last Thursday. It was worse than expected. I had two complete tears of the cartilage and some damage to the biceps tendon. My surgeons are also the team docs for the Oakland A's, but they wouldn't guarantee a 90 MPH splitter. Oh, well. They took great care of me. I had a scalene nerve block that kept me comfortably numb for 24 hours. I haven't used any pain meds except Ibuprofen since surgery despite having 4 bone screws and a few loops of monofilament in my shoulder. They really did an outstanding job. I still can't sleep lying down and I'm wearing a sling. I still have a lot of pain, but my recovery is going beautifully. In the operating room, I can't do any retraction or drive in trocars, but I can cut and sew like Betsy freakin' Ross!

So much to be thankful for this year, including all of you. You keep me thinking and laughing. Thank you.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah and God bless you.

Merry Christmas to you as well, Moses...and do heal fast. Your children look like they have enough energy that you'll need functioning appendages! An 85 mph splitter?

Glad to hear things are going well Moses. Surgery always makes me nervous as I've had one that didn't turn out like it was supposed to.

Good looking kids...your boy looks a lot like you. Well, minus the pirate outfit.

Sorry, the Percocet and Darvocet have been flushed. A few years ago, after my wife had surgery, we had a guy doing some drywall repair and painting in our house. He found my wifes unused Vicodin. We found him on the floor barely breathing. Now I don't keep anything stronger that Motrin around the house. Sorry.

A root canal brought Vicodin into my realm - that stuff was real bad good.
I would think it could put any non-addictive personality up against itself.

Applying my typical adult attention deficit, what is the world record for 1 armed pull-ups? Can anyone actually do more than 2 or 3?

my coworker can do alot of one arm-ers. he is an avid rockclimber. i think any mens gymnastic team could crank out more than 3.

moses, i hope you feel better. i am sure people tell you, your son looks like you. i hate vicoden! you get all sleepy, and then to make matters worse, you have to follow them up with that little red pill. or suffer countless, fruitless hours sitting on the can, growing 'roids.

merry holidays to you too!
