How about some good news? My son walked today.
So, I'm sitting on the couch watching my 1 year old Jacob play with his toys on the floor. He's a crawler, doesn't seem to have any interest in walking...
So, I'm watching him, cheering him on from the couch. He's taken a step or three here and there with much encouragement but generally he's just a crawler, a carpet monkey so to speak. Well, I'm watching him play with a ball on the floor - nothing abnormal. Then he stands up walks across the room like he's done it a million times and gets another ball out of the toy box and throws it my way. FANTASTIC! So I walk to the other side of the room and say "Walk over here?" And he does, now we can't get him to stop... It was the very nearly the best thing that has ever happened to me. Ever. Merry Xmas and Happy Chanukah. SmileWavy |
Good stuff.
Time to put that foam edge protector on everything. |
Congrats!!! Both of my kids walked on their first birthdays. At this point, you will be running after Jacob constantly! Much more to be aware of than when he was a crawler.
Have fun!! Happy holiday. |
Great story, Mike. I was afraid our Jacob was never going to walk. Same deal as yours, though. Now we can't get him to slow down.
Now we are working on talking. Mine is two Dec. 14. Merry Christmas to you and your family. |
Awesome!! And you will always remember that it was on X-mas and what a great day it was. You're richer than Bill Gates.
Merry X-mas all!! SmileWavy |
One word ROLLBAR PADDING, Oh I guess that's two words.

Mike,
Don't forget the video camera!!!!! Merry Christmas, all! Randy |
Precious time, Mike. Enjoy it. For more good news, Evren in Istanbul, who posts here on occassion, just sent an email birth announcement. Mother Ruki and daughter #3 Leyla are both doing well. Leyla was born Christmas eve, December 24th, at 11:50 A.M. Merry Christmas everybody! :D

In the way your first car expanded your horizon when you got it, those first steps just expanded his.
Problem is, it just expanded your 'watch zone' too. Congrats. |
Good boy! And the end of couch days for for Daddy. I have a month or two left of couch time with my fourth kid.

Yeah, now we have to baby proof higher. It was the greatest thing, I try to be home as much as possible. The wife works as well but she works from home three days a week. He only goes to day care a little bit in the afternoon those days (if at all). I am always worried he'll cross a threshold there but so far so good.
He's a fun kid to say the least; It's nice about the christmas thing but...uh...we're kind of jewish. Well...I guess that's like being a little bit pregnant. Okay, we're totally Jewish. His Grandmother's Christian though and she's here so we have a tree and stuff. So, it was good for her! But it is great that it happened over the holiday because my mom is coming from out of town tonight and my wife's mom is here. So - it's cool. Merry Christmas and Happy chanukah! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1135546517.jpg |
Sweet story...time goes by so fast--print this thread out for him.
Christian. |
Very cool, they grow up fast, mine are 17 and 20. Tip, take all your VHS, super 8, whatever you have and get them burned to DVD or some other less delicate format. I took 20 years of ours and had them all burned to DVD, the wife and kids watched them last night until 2AM. And keep using the camcorder, you'll forget after a time and wish you had filmed more.
