Off Topic Forum Guidelines

OK: to make this forum an effective place, here are some guidelines for us to live by in this Off Topic area. As the moderator of this forum, I will do my best to serve your needs.

1. No flaming: debates are ok, but responding to threads just to incite or start an argument or conflict is not permitted. Personal attacks, if hostile in nature, are not allowed.

2. No pointless threads or excessive posting allowed: Yes, this is an off topic forum, but let's keep the subject matter of an intelligent nature. If you're bored, play a game on your playstation or better yet, wash your car! Posting responses to increase your 'number of posts' is also not allowed.

3. Absolutely no pornographic, objectionable, or illegal material allowed. No pictures, links to pictures, discussion of porn...etc. is allowed. Objectionable material includes graphic gore, tasteless jokes, and any off-color subject matter. Such posts will be deleted, and such posts are grounds for banning.

4. No discussion of any illegal activity permitted. This not only jeoparizes Pelican Parts and Wayne, it will ultimately jeopardize you! Linking to any site that deals with illegal activity is not allowed. Posting information on how to defraud a company or misuse a product or any promotion of any illegal activity will not be tolerated. Again, such posts are grounds for banning. Observe all copyright laws when posting copyrighted material.

5. Do not impersonate other people or use fake aliases. Only one userid per person allowed.

6. No profanity allowed. Make every effort to express your views without resorting to trash talk.

7. Respect other's privacy: no posting of pictures, phone numbers, email addresses...etc. of another individual without their permission.

There will be posts in the off topic area that will have heated debates. Please approach such threads with caution: be as clear as possible in posting your views, so you won't be mis-interpretted. Heated debates are good, as long as people enter them with a mature attitude and are willing to "agree to disagree." Mutual respect goes a long way.

I don't believe these guidelines are unreasonable. Let's have fun here, but keep the peace too.

Have fun!
-Zoltan.

If Superman and Peterpan both don't mind (that is, the respective people that have been photoshopped as such), then it's ok. http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif

Hello Zman...This is an off topic area...Correct...Please...Pretty please... be reasonable and liberal before deleting any posts...I appreciate, and look forward to, the postings from a pile of the regular and valuable members from the 924/944/928 (which should read 968).

Blackfoot 07-04-2001 04:40 PM

i think it's safe to say that if you follow the guidelines that z-man mentions, your post/thread will remain for a long, long time. it's pretty simple.

no, just bring a note from your mother letting us know its ok to play with other children.

Z-man 07-05-2001 01:45 PM

Geez people: these guidelines aren't THAT terrible. I passed these guidelines by Wayne before posting them here.

I know: rules, rules, rules... but why all the grumblings? What rules do you find to be so unreasonable? The guidelines are posted for two main reasons:
1. Prevent illegal activity.
2. Keep the forum going as smooth as possible.

Give this forum a chance, and cut me some slack here, please. I'm not a dictator, nor am I trying to ruin the fun. Just trying to keep things under control. That's all.

(Reaching for his Nomex suit, and awaiting the flames),
-Zoltan.

the grumblings are from the troublemakers and players from the 944 board. they just dont like rules or changes.
