How to ban the idiots!-Wayne help?
 

Is their a way to ban the repeated postings by people who repeatedly post racist/offensive comments.
Wayne, you are the moderator.
Is their a way to lock certain offenders out?.
I realise they may reappear under different disguises but I wondered if their was a way to lock some of these persons out of the board permanently.
I am all for 'free speech'and realise that some of us have different cultures and opinions of what is acceptable or unacceptable, but should there be certain standards ?.
The OT posts are usually entertaining and I feel a welcome break from soley Tech. board which would be boring.
I know there is always the answer 'Just don't bother reading it!".
Maybe I am wasting my breath, but I feel there maybe others out there with the same feelings?.
Otherwise keep up the good work!.

I must agree with 86ragtop. I am not offended by nudity, but it is sad to find out that some of our members need little provocation to display their racism. Yet they are obviously a bit ashamed, because they post under new names ...

Good luck Ben... I have expressed these same concerns about the quality and subject matter of the content 944 board. In the 944 land, the result was revised content guidelines along with some firm warnings. After a few days, we also received a new moderator, Matt a.k.a "lordgrommit"

IMOP, things happened...

- The board cleaned up...
- Most of the younger members got upset
- Those who had been posting the objectionable material, used me as a target of their angst
- The content flavor of the board changed
- We lost some members (tired of listening to the "clean-up" arguments)
- The problem posters are more carefull (they use other ID's now)
- We exposed the fact that some of the content posters were from other pelican boards and were having fun stiring the pot
- My ID got cloned and several objectionable posts were created in my name
- Wayne got upset with me and my approach (lost my posting privilages)

Thought this was a current thread until I got to Warren's post. Hope he's enjoying a heaven full of Early S's!

One thing is fairly certain, many of the offenders are no longer young ...

Oh, and now they're over in PARF.

After reading the first few posts of this thread, I couldn't understand the concerns of the OP, then I saw this started 14 years ago, before PARF came along and cleaned up the forums. Thanks PARF !
