Rodeo, Cat, G9 & CHR, hope you liberals are happy over this Terrorist video
Well, all you liberals keep saying that we need to get out of Iraq and bring everyone home. Now the enemy is using you and your Mother figure Sheehan in the war against us.
The terrorists are now seen on a video saying that they have won the war against the Americans because they are pulling their troops out of the country. Hope you boys are happy and just remember this in the future when they come to a city near you to bring their death and destruction to your loved ones. Al-Qaida Touts U.S. Troop Cuts in Iraq CAIRO, Egypt - Al-Qaida's No. 2, Ayman al-Zawahri, said in a videotape aired Friday that the United States' recent decision to withdraw some troops from Iraq represented "the victory of Islam." Al-Zawahri, wearing a white turban and gray robe and seated next to an automatic rifle, waved his finger for emphasis as he spoke in the two-minute excerpt aired by Al-Jazeera. "I congratulate (the Islamic nation) for the victory of Islam in Iraq," he said. Al-Zawahri apparently was referring to comments last month by Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, who said President Bush had authorized new troop cuts below the 138,000 level that prevailed for most of last year. Rumsfeld did not reveal the exact size of the cut, but the Pentagon said the reductions would be about 7,000 troops, about the size of two combat brigades. The Pentagon has not announced a timetable for troop reductions, but indications are that the force could be cut significantly by the end of this year. "You remember I told you more than a year ago that the American withdrawal from Iraq is only a matter of time, and here they are now ... negotiating with the mujahedeen," al-Zawahri said. "Bush was forced at the end of last year to announce that he will pull out his forces from Iraq, but he was giving excuses for his withdrawal that the Iraqi forces have reached a good level." Bush has not offered concrete details about bringing troops home but said Wednesday that "possible adjustments" would be discussed with Iraqi leaders if progress continued on security and political efforts. Al-Zawahri said the American forces "with their planes, missiles, tanks and fleets are mourning and bleeding, seeking for a getaway from Iraq." "Regarding your withdrawal timetable ... you have to admit, Bush, that you have been defeated in Iraq and are being defeated in Afghanistan and will be defeated in Palestine," he said, speaking calmly but forcefully. Al-Jazeera said the videotape was dated in December but it gave no more specifics. The most recent videotape from al-Zawahri, aired by Al-Jazeera in October, called on Muslims to aid victims of a massive earthquake in Pakistan. "If I was comforting the Islam nation for its crisis of Pakistan's earthquake, I today congratulate it and bless the Islamic victory in Iraq," al-Zawahri said in Friday's tape. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060106/ap_on_re_mi_ea/zawahri_tape

Dude, it don't matter what the outcome was, unless that organization was wiped from the ********* of the earth, that kind of response was inevitable from Al Qaida.

Exactly. Cuts today, cuts 5 years, cuts 10 years.....no matter when, this would happen. The only way for this to not happen is to turn Iraq into the 51st American state.

I thought the Bush administration had decided to cut troop levels ... you know, because the Iraqi security forces are doing so well.
I'm afraid no one consulted me on Iraq. Had they, we would have concentrated on defending America from these animals, not on sticking our nose into the nearest beehive. We have spent the last three years and three hundred billion dollars slapping bees in Iraq, not defending America EDIT: And if anyone had consulted me, Zawahri and OBL would be dead, not sitting next to rifles making propaganda videotapes

Al-Qaida Touts U.S. Troop increases in Iraq

The Pentagon has not announced a timetable for troop increases, but indications are that the force could be grown significantly by the end of this year. Al-Zawahri said the American forces "with their planes, missiles, tanks and fleets are mourning and bleeding, and now need more help as they are battered by the jihadists." "Regarding your battle timetable ... you have to admit, Bush, that you have been defeated in Iraq and are being defeated in Afghanistan and will be defeated in Palestine," he said, speaking calmly but forcefully. Joe, the bigger question is, "why are OBL, Al-Zawahri and al-Zarqawi still alive to even make this video?"
3 years, $300B and we can't catch and kill 3 guys?

Nostatic-- That's pretty funny. And you're right! A large part of this (and any) war is propaganda. That said, you have to acknowledge that the Michael Moore/Cindy Sheehan wing of the Democratic party are, intended or not, useful idiots for al Quaida.

But the problem is, no matter the outcome, when we pull out, whenever that is, tomorrow, or 5 years from now, it will be perceived as a "victory" anyway and propagandized as such. |

The message from Ayman al-Zawahri is nothing more than lip-smack. As others have said, if a bee stung a soldier, al-Zawahri would use that as an opportunity to point out how the Muslims are running the evil hordes out of Iraq.

Brilliant strategy by the Bush monkey; start an unbelievably foolish military adventure based on BS, then have your hacks blame it on the press and your political opposition when it inevitably goes to schit. And of course our enemies are having an endzone dance over it.

Oh brother
The words of a few opponents don't count for a hill of beans in this world, its actions that count. Mike and Cindy don't run this war anymore than you or I and they are more than allowed to disagree with anything they like. Of all the people you choose to blame for the Iraq failures its a couple of loud-mouthed civilians? Thats the best you've got? Come on dude, wheres your A-game huh? Tired of blaming France for all our problems? What, not enough Republicans running the show for you? Hope you boys are happy and just remember this in the future when they come to a city near you to bring their death and destruction to your loved ones. Nice threat Joe, classy. Yeah, Im shaking in my boots over here in San Jose CA, alQuida target #1. Do you even know why the insurgents are attacking us in Iraq? I'll let you in on a little secret: its not because they are making their way to Indianapolis or Detroit. Im going to go over to my grammys house right away and try to keep her safe from the invading armies of insurgents coming our way. You're the only one who is scared Joe, why don't you go do something about it huh? God knows, you're running out of people to blame.

I think these al queda pukes will keep saying this kind of stuff...
You go in and kick the $hit out of them, they take heavy losses, then we pull out, they're gonna celebrate a 'victory'. As long as some are left alive, this crap will happen.

Joe. Normally I agree with you, but I'm not real sure how/why you're twisting this to be an attack on liberals. This was doomed to happen, remember Tokyo Rose? Same $hit.

Ice, I know why they're blaming liberals and you do too. It's because the obvious is too difficult to accept.

Anyone that has made a study of guerrilla warfare knows that an organized Army cannot win in such a war without having at least a 10 to one advantage in actual gun carrying troops on the ground. The supply/maintenance trains would have to be staffed above those numbers, normally at least 15-20 personnel for every war fighter. That would mean not less than 300,000 war fighters on the ground in Iraq, and more than 4 million total personnel commited to the conflict. That wasn't doable under any circumstances. The lessons in this, which you're likely not to learn, is to never start a war that can't be won, never start a war that hasn't the support of more than 90% of the American population, and never, never falsify the rationale for going to war.
