Post Looking to buy a Ducati

Does anyone out there have experience out there with Ducati motorcycles good or bad? I have become enamored with the Monster and am thinking of buying either an M600 or M750. What about maintenance? Everyone talks about adjusting their valves but I think if I can adjust a 911's valves that a Duck's would be simple. I want to start with a relatively small bike since I have not ridden in some years. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
Rich

I've owned a 900SSCR and a 748 and was very happy with both. The onl chronic problems are the clutch slave cyl seal and the Volt. Reg. Both are easy fixes and will be replaced under warranty. (Interestingly enough, the OLD style part works better).

Since replacement, no problems.

Valve adjustment is not a big deal.. It's like every 10K miles. THat's a LOT of bike miles.

My recommendation is go with the best one you can afford. If you MUST get a Monster, get the 900. Anything less will be too slow very quickly... Plus the 750 is the only Duc with a wet clutch. Love the rattle of the dry clutch...

Remember, you control the throttle, so if you are worried about too much power, just restrain yourself... It's better than having to buy another bike in 1-2 years.

Thanks for the advice. I'll surely take it into consideration.
