The best Carerra GT 1:18 die cast model?

Like everybody else here, I will never own a Carerra GT. But I'd really like a well-done model of one on my desk.

I've seen the Maisto model at the hobby shop, but it looks poorly done to me. Thanks for any ideas.

I've seen one at a Porsche freinds house(original owner of an '84 picked up at the factory). The Miasto 1/18th I thought was fairly neat. I am not sure who all makes C GT's, but could look that up. Different makes have different advantages. I often am not pleased with Hotwheel's 1/18th paint jobs.

If I want to look up what car models are availible, I'll use ebay to see whats on the market. I also see a minichamps C GT. They have a good rep, but I don't ahve one - yet. They are starting to put out the Porsche's as Hot wheels has their Ferrari exclusive. The minichamps will cost more, but it should be a great model.

Auto Art also makes a C GT. Not owning either, I can't just comment. I do have a few Auto Art Lamborghini Diablo's, and they are a nice model. ( I have about 120 1/18ths in my bedroom)

I have the AutoArt "Millennium" Carrera GT in 1:18 scale.

It's a stunning model - I've got several 1:18 Minichamps and the C-GT would rival them for quality and attention to detail. The rear wing is spring loaded, so you can leave it down, or pop it up for the high speed look.

I would have to rate Minichamps over AutoArt, but the quality of both is very, very good. I've got a couple of superb Minichamps BMWs (E9 Racing CSL, 3.0 CSi) and a couple of awesome AutoArt cars (996 GT2, GT3RS, Turbo & C-GT).

UT have since become AutoArt and I've got a couple of really nice 993s (C2S & 993 RSCS).

I've got the Maisto C-GT in my display case and I don't think it looks bad, especially when considering it was under $20.

I got the Maisto CG-T from Costco for $10. Not a bad model.
AutoArt will do a better job though...
