Does Border's Have an Agenda???
Wierd experience tonight. We took the family to dinner at our local steakhouse and decided to head over to Border's Bookstore afterwards. Guess what?
They have 2 full sections on "Magical Studies". Books all about Wicca and Moon Spells and Hexes and whatnot. 2 full sections on Astrology and 4 sections on "Metaphysical". That's 8 sections of books total. Compare that to their 2 sections on Golf (which is what I was looking for) and it seems a little wierd. They did happen to have one copy left of Dave Pelz's Putting Bible so I left happy. It leaves me to wonder if there is some sort of agenda at Borders... You would think they would carry books that represent what their clients want to read, being for profit and all. I haven't noticed witches and warlocks running around here in San Antonio, but maybe I am hanging out at the wrong places... Does this seem wierd to anyone else?

Rick;
I saw several witches on the Riverwalk the other night. Didn't notice if they were carrying Border's bags tho. Seems like the local store manager gets to apportion the store as they sell stuff. The one here in Redondo Beach seems to be all golfing and sailing. The Torrance one has motorcycle mags I have never seen before. If you see a really good looking witch down there, PM me, I could use some o'that.

Nope, Barnes and Noble is the same. Occult stuff is all the rage these days. Teenage girls casting spells to get the man of their dreams and hex their rivals with zits, housewives that are bored, hippies, people that fantasize about Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, and those that feel closer to nature than God.
Witchy/occult stuff is big business these days. Fantasy stokes the heart, and magic is fantasy. Also, people looking for the quick fix, people want fast, easy money, weight loss in a pill, huge penises from a pill, or, if you could convince yourself that you could get them by magic...
