I heard a daily treatment of Aloe Vera is supposed to increase bloodflow to the scalp. Can anyone confirm this?

Any thoughts on the product Matthew Mcconaughey claims he used called Reginex? Or did he spring for implants I wonder.....

Matthew Mcconaughey's hair really does not look hugely different from before, but it does look like he uses Propecia and it took really well. His hair appears to be ~100% now. I went in for the free consult at Regenix, (where he supposedly got the results from), and it seemed like snake oil to me. Super-expensive shampoo that supposedly opens the follicles up, etc., etc...

Joe, you are right about just letting the whole subject go, and I haven't spent much time or energy on it. (Tried both Rogaine and Propecia but quit both right away because I'm too lazy). I think that if it did not cost too much $$ or energy and really works, however, what the hey?

Last question, what is "Avacor"? Supposed to be another DHT blocker, (I think), anyone know it?

Which of the products you are mentioning is over-the-counter? Or do you need a Rx for all of them?

I suspect it's just timing, but Penn and Teller just did a program (I have it in TiVo) about Hair.. it called BULL****!

It is hilarious. Watch for it.

There really is a forum for everything! What do they argue about in their off-topic section? :)

I can't beleive I'm readin this tread - What happened to the stud muffin I was back in the 90's? I had so much hair it looked like a fro!

Looks like it's time for me to call my doc too, I've lost about 1" off my hair line - Is it true Rogaine does nothing for the hair line or is this because they cant prove it? The box says it only works for people loosing hair from the crown.

I've seen some horrible looking transplants before. Looked like rows of corn.

I took Propecia for about two years after I got sick and tired of spending half an hour in the shower every morning ****ing around with a spurious three-stage shampoo system only to watch the same amount of hair go down the drain.

I had a lot of re-growth with Propecia, but the miracle drug was turning me into a woman -- spontaneous crying, erratic moods and constant cravings ... for chocolate!

I told my then-girlfriend that we had become a lesbian couple thanks to Propecia.

I still blame the dissolution of our relationship on Finasteride.

The attitude in your first paragraph directly contradicts the attitude in your second paragraph. If you're losing hair, and it matters to you, don't screw around--do it right. If you're going gray, and it matters to you, fix it the right way. Grecian formula is the equivalent of that "spray on hair" that used to be advertised on late night TV.

If you depend on your hair to satisfy the babes ;) , you really need to go to a professional.

I know a guy who is one of the top hair stylists in Hollywood, (semi-famous), and he told me that there are some transplant artists, (doctors), who are so good that he has a hard time telling when he's working on the recipient's head!

I think that there are some new techniques that put the old ones to shame, it is a viable option now if the $$ doesn't bother you.
