I just saw the movie for the first time and my wife and I enjoyed it and laughed alot, although I don't think we understand it. I'll watch it a few more times to see if I can figure it out. We have three pet ferrets, so the scene with the "attach marmot(actually a ferret) was very funny! John Goodman's character (Walter Sobchak) was hilarious! The dream sequences were weird and I don't understand the significance of some of the characters/scenes...

And you will notice that through out the whole movie The Dude doesn't bowl a single frame! Great movie. Girlfriend wont watch it with me though.:rolleyes:

My girlfriend will watch it with me, but she is from SoCal and every 5 minutes she says something like, "Oh I've been there!' or "I've climbed that rock!" or "There's no way that place wouldn't be crowded." But I forgive her because I say the lines with the actors through most of it.

I just watched the movie again tonight and noticed that the nihilist that gets his ear bit off in the fight scene is the guy from the VW commercial who "unpimps the auto"... I swear it's the same guy!
