This hits the right "button"
Boy, this does it for me....
Ford GT 40 MK II- A http://www.superformance.com/news_12.aspx Porsche content...this seems to be the same price as the Beck 904, but somehow, I like this better.... - Wil |

wow it looks like they did a heck of a job with that. I would put a small block Ford with a TON of webers on it and make it spin to 7500rpm just like the original. Some companies like using 928 5 speed transaxles with those right?

Indeed..the details are amazing...especially if you look at the bottom series of pics blown up....
Never thought I would like these in silver...but wow...I always thought white/blue stripe or Guardsman Blue/white stripe.... I think MK11's used Ford big blocks , though, lvporschepilot...no ? - Wil

PS....the original used ( of all things ! ) Corvair ( i.e "GM") tail-lights.
Wonder if this uses the same ???? - Wil

you are right the mk2 did use big blocks. I think the Mk1 used the Windsor 302.

It gets convoluted...the very original GT40's ...before Shelby and his gang get their "development" hands on it over the winter of 64-65...were even DOHC Indy style ( 255?) engines with Colloti (weak) transmissions. Later cars were either 4.7L ( 289) or 302 ( 5 liter)...especially in later 68-69 Gulf/Wyer forms..... I think with ZF trans axles
Can't recall exactly the MK1 proper configuration...but MK11 won '66 Le Mans with a 427. Probably a Ford T-44 trans axle ( using Top-Loader internals, I'm told).... - Wil
