What happens if you're riding head-down on impact? I guess they find your head a few miles back.

15 stitches I think. I believe he rear-ended a car in 2001 and broke a bunch of ribs. He said that was more painful than his heart surgery.

How about a jacket and helmet with built in external airbags. When you're launched from the bike a tether is disconnected (like on a treadmill) and the bags deploy.
