Subaru Outback Turbo?

My daily driver is an '01 Outback which I generally like. I've always wished it had more HP but it does OK. I stopped at the dealership the other day to ask some questions re: mine and then saw the 'new' Outback with the 2.5 Turbo @ 250 HP. I did not DARE drive one or likely woulda traded on the spot.

So, does anyone have one and/or have an opinion on them. I think for what they are Subarus are really damn well made and reliable. My '01 would likely last me another five years if I wanted to keep it that long.....but that Turbo sounds pretty tasty. Also have wondered if there's a way to 'chip' mine and get more performance but I haven't found anything.

Love to hear reports on the 'new' turbo.

Try Cobb Tuning (www.cobbtuning.com), I am sure they make some parts for the Outback. I am going to guess though without a power adder, it is going to be hard to increase the HP, and you are probably better off trading up to the 2.5 turbo.

I really enjoy my WRX, and just put new springs in and some very useful gauges.

Actually, these are on my short list to look at, as I'm going to be getting a new car in April/May. If you do drive one, report back.
