Has everyone forgotten about Alito?

The Alito hearings began today and not a peep on the board. Are we all too busy bashing each other over the war and all the conspiracy theories?? Anyone wanna talk about the Supreme Court?? I didn't get to see Alito's opening statement, I watched a little of the opening statements by committee members, specfically Feinstein and Biden. Seems like this one could get contentious.

Who's Alito? Kennedy is calling him Alioto.

If I am not mistaken he is going to bring back Jim Crow laws and force all liberal women to get a hanger abortion.

"No person in this country, no matter how high or powerful, is above the law, and no person in this country is beneath the law," he [Alito] said.
I could see Kennedy taking exception to that statement. After all, he's never had to answer for his crimes.

At lunch it was Feinstein's turn to insult Alito. I lost my appetite.

Ahhhhhhh ... the good ol' days, eh Mul?

I saw some of the opening statements by the committee, but didn't run far enough on the treadmill to hear Alito (Alioto to our friend Teddy).

My impression is that he is a very good nominee for corporate interests, the military industrial complex, and broad executive powers. Little guys don't stand much of a chance in his courtroom.

Alioto?? That sounds like a Styx song:

Domo Arigato Mr. Alioto,
Domo Domo
Domo Domo.

Pronounciation has never been Kennedy's strong suit. I'd like to see Kennedy vs. Bush in a spelling bee.

It's too bad ... it was Teddy's money line, the one that was going to make the sound bites, and he flubbed the guy's name.

Alito, who was discussed extensively on the McLaughlin Group last weekend, has penned some interesting judicial decisions, particularly with regard to removing federal jurisdiction over firearms. The Constitution forbids the federal government to restrict firearms in any way.

His biggest negative is who nominated him, and the likelihood that he's still a criminal statist at his core.

LMAO!

About the only television I watch is morning news, for traffic information purposes. This morning I happened to see Dubya presenting Alito. Dubya had that dumb**** smirk on his face. The one you normally only see on the faces of people who just made an embarrasing mistake, and are pretending to be in control.

I've said it before and intend to say it again. That guy wouldn't have lasted five minutes on the playground in my old school. A bully magnet if I ever saw one.
