Ultimate movie thread-new release
 

It's been a movie weekend. First the Ultimate video thread, and nw, after a search to no avail, I start the Ultimate movie thread. This is for new releases as we all know there are favorite and overlooked movie threads.

I'll start with "hoodwinked". Absolutely hilarious. I had no idea what to expect. I've never heard of it except to be notified I was taking my family to see it today. For those who are equally in the dark, it's a computer gen Spielberg movie about the different perspectives on the Little Red Riding Hood story. It's done to look a lot like fifties claymation like "Davey and Goliath" but more refined and in cartoon form. Yeah-had I known I would have passed too. However, it was much better than one would expect. Jammed full of classic one liners and amusing situations, not to mention clever plot twists. My wife and I laughed so hard we were crying at some points, but then again, we're a little weird. I also have to admit that one of my other favorite movies is "The Incredibles" so maybe my film tastes are a bit adolescent. Anyway, hopefully you have kids because they're a great excuse for seeing this one. If not, throw caution to the wind and go anyway. Word of warning, it's pretty weird and surreal at times. DO NOT consume any mushrooms or other hallucinogens before seeing this movie. I give it 6 sparkplugs.
