deleting webites from dropdown bar: help
hey guys need a lil help,.....
a while back someone posted a request to help him delete visited websites off the drop down address bar, i THINK redbeard nailed the process down, i thought i had saved that thread for a rainy day but i didnt... i used the SEARCH button to find that thread and i couldnt. can anyone help? i know about clearing the history and cookies but that not what im talking about....... thanks, redbeard |
The only way I know (and I am not an IT person) to clear the drop down list (arrow at top right of page) is to go into the control panel/internet settings (or something like that) and clear the history. this will take care of the drop downs.
If you mean favorites, right click. Hope that helps :) -Chris |
Depends on which browser.
|
Which browser? In Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox, just clear the history - there's options in the various preferences places. In IE, same thing, but in "Tools..." then "Internet options"
|
It's in the settings.
Go to Safety, Settings, Main Settings, Toolbar Settings, and click the "Clear History Now" bar. There is a setting on that menu that cleans the 'history' every time you shut AOL down. Sounds like that's what you want. The wife will never know you've been looking at the bootleg vid of J. Lo's butt. |

THATS THE ONE!!!!!!!!!!!
andy,
thats the thread i was thinking about! thanks sooooo much! now... to the cleaning! hehehehehe! |
Alexander, you may find that AOL keeps it's own records separately. If that doesn't work, the menus I gave you will clean the AOL history from within AOL.

Alex; sorry, a careful read above reminds me that it was tcar that had aol.

Dood, just don't visit the porn sites :) Now, if you load up Google and your data is saved in the search bar, you'll need to clear your form data as well.. Learn to cover your tracks, boy.....
