Barrett-Jackson's take = $5,760

The commentator described it as a "Well Sold" car even given the low mileage.

The Jackson auction is a rip off. Anyone heard them say " now we got real money" and do you know what it means? Not to mention the cars are not always what they say they are. Its TV.

My step father and his buddys head down there and get drunk as skunks. One of his friends always ends up making stupid buys on a whim.

Are they still 100% no reserve? There were some PISSED sellers there last year.

I have a friend who goes to most all of them and helps out the Barrett Jackson people and told me if they see a nice car not bringing a price it should they will have their people buy it (low price) and take it to the next show. They try and get every owner to go No Reserve. That way they can buy it and take it to the next show. Also, real money is when a non-barrett jackson person is bidding, in otherwords real money. It's TV.

So they've got a team of shill bidders to prop up prices?

And they charge a 16% commission?

And they will essentially steal your car so they can sell it at a higher price?

Doesn't sound like anyone I'd ever want to do business with.

That, and some of the prices they do bring in are stupid overpriced. Often for replicas!

Yeah, I was watching last night and they got $60k for an AAR Cuda clone. Please explain to me how a 35 year car with a nice paint job and some stickers, but otherwise unremarkable goes for that. Why would anyone want to get a car through this outfit. The buyer and seller are going to get done for 16%, the prices are artificially inflated by the agent earning the commission, they want you to sign a contract to sell your car with no guarantee you will get what it is worth, and if they can step in and pick it up themselves, and sell it twice for the nice quadruple commission. Sounds like almost as sweet a deal as owning an insurance company or being a bookie

The Porsche list wasn't all that exciting to me...maybe the 356B Cab on reserve?

I was going to ask Thom (widebody) what he thought of the green 65 VW Single cab bus pick-up thingy going for $43,000.

It did look pretty nice though.

Did anyone check out the 75 911 silver anniversary on ebay? I paid 12K for mine and its damn near perfect and with papers. The one on ebay was at 4K yesterday and is just plain junk. Hope it isn't one of a pelican's car.

I'm a pretty good judge of "people", and after seeing Craig Jackson smiling behind the bench, I would'nt feel good after being "screwed" by him or his group.

I am waiting for the gray 930 they keep teasing us with after the commercials. Jeez, get it on the block, already!!!
I can't believe the prices they are getting for some of these cars. You could buy them anywhere else for far less, I'm sure. Do you think the B-J aura adds to the car's value for the next guy?

I for one would NOT buy a car that was sold at bj and they wanted the same kind of money. Screwed is Screwed. I have rebuilt to many cars my self to get caught in that crap. I guess there are lots of people out there with more money than sense. I have had to work for what I have. I would not be impressed by someone showing me a car and saying "I bought it at Barrett Jackson". You know, a dumb a$$ is a dumb a$$ no matter how you dress it.

Stolen sports car back after 37 years

this guy need to go to Barrett Jackson next year...He will make a killing with the story connected to this one if they can get the full history

last year a car involved in bank robberies went for way to much.
