Emeralds?
Anyone know about buying emeralds?
My wife's been wanting and emerald ring or ear rings for a while and while I feel pretty good about buying diamonds I don't know a damn thing or where to look for buying an emerald. Thanks!

IIRC, they are actually rarer than diamonds. They are also cheaper (thanks de Beers!).
I also think they have to be "conditioned" to be durable enough to be set in jewelry. My wife has become obsessed with Tanzanite...
