Anyone here have a Dell LCD TV?

We are looking for a 32" HDTV LCD for our family room. Does anyone here have any experience with Dell TVs? Here is the one we're considering. We don't want a behemoth 42" or larger TV and I like how thin the LCD is. I don't care for plasmas, so this looks like a good deal for us...

We just got a similarly-sized Samsung LCD (all that would fit in our "entertainment unit").

Very pleased with it--color and brightness are fine, and the viewing angle is better than I expected. However, the menu operations are a little annoying. Switching from 4:3 to Wide takes a few more button-presses than I'd prefer. It remembers what mode you last used for each input but some of our DVDs are 16:9 and some are 4:3...and others still are widescreen but not in 16:9. Switching the "zoom" mode around is irritating.

Bought it at Costco, BTW...used the AmEx and get the extra warranty for free.

Got a 17" Dell LCD last April and mounted it under the cabinet in the kitchen. That TV gets watched more than any other in the house. So far it's been great, no complaints.

Had one of the Dell LCD TV + Computer monitors for a short time at my wife's office, and it was pretty sweet - but was stolen in a major building burglary!

Frankly I would not consider a 16:9 screen larger than 32-34" to be a "behemoth" for most folk's viewing areas. IMO a 36 or 42" screen is pretty darn nice even at relatively close distances i.e. out to 10-12'. The geometry of the widescreen units makes them subjectively appear smaller than the older 4:3 TV's in similar diagonal size categories.

When our bulky 200lb 32" 4:3 CRT downstairs is ready to replace, I don't see going to less than a thin 50" 150lb 16:9...

The dells are nice but a tad over priced. We went with a syntax (they only make LCD tvs) and its 37 inch and hangs over the fireplace. It cost about 1500 after the 300 dollar rebate. Its very nice already has the hdtv thingy integrated. I thought long and hard about the dell as thats all I have for computers but did not want to cough up the extra cash

I just bought the 32" Dell. Is was $1600 after the online discounts, so it was pretty reasonable. It's HDTV and 4.5" thick LCD, so it will fit in the family room nicely. We're getting the DishTV satellite hook-up, so my grandfather will be happy! Thanks for the helpful posts!

Ben,
Yep, cable management is always a major pain! I'm one of those "tie wrap everything" guys...
