Petes Brass Rail and Carwash...
There is no brass rail.
There is no carwash. And who the hell is Pete? So the T-shirt says. Pete's is getting ready to serve its 1000th different type of beer, so we went for dinner last night. What a place! Absolutely nothing "healthy" on the menu. Maybe the best pub food ever. Great burgers. I had a flank steak sandwich that had been marinated for days. My son had a blackened turkey sandwich with avocado, tomato and lots of cajun mayonaisse. Add a pile of hot juicy onion rings and a pitcher of pale ale and its a beautiful thing. Petes plays only classic rock and seems to be packed every night. It's been around forever. Anybody been there? Any other favorites?

Mmmmm, sound great! But is it worth driving 600 miles for?

Sure sounds nice. Will have to put it on the "places to drop by" sometime...

the brass rail in sunnyvale has a brass rail, no food, unless you count the old time popcorn cart in the corner. some of the popcorn is blackened, the beer is never as cold as you'd like, the bathrooms are filthy, and the girls rarely have clothes on. i really enjoy spending a rainy afternoon there now and again.

I really miss Bick's in the Greenwood area of Seattle. A neighborhood place in a renovated house. Great waitstaff, good drinks, rock shrimp spring rolls and a sesame-crusted halibut with orange sauce to die for.
