Cindy Sheehan embraces Hugo Chavez...

Good morning. If one can believe the lefty website "vheadline.com" (who can't seem to spell her name correctly) it appears that the America-bashing socialist, and useful idiot for third--world communists, Cindy Sheehan will be joining Hugo Chavez to address 6th World Social Forum in Caracas. Charming. No wonder the US "main-stream" media couldn't get enough of her...

VHeadline.com correspondent Dawn Gable writes: World Social Forum organizers in Caracas have announced that the inauguration ceremony to be held on Tuesday, January 24, will feature US anti-war activist Cindy Sheenan among other as yet unnamed speakers from Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, and Colombia.

The Forum will officially begin after a 2-day street festival, which began today, Sunday, along Avenida Bolivar in Parque Vargas, celebrating the anniversary of the 1958 overthrow of dictator Marcos Perez Jimenez. Tens of thousands gathered at the Plaza de Tres Gracias in Caracas at 3:00 p.m. and to march to Paseao Los Proceres for a political-cultural event under the slogan 'Contra la Guerra y Contra el Imperio' (Against the War and Against the Empire).

January 25-28, more than 3,000 journalists are expected to cover 1,800 self-directed activities and 200 cultural events gathering 2,700 organizations at 10 locations across the nation's capital. The activities are organized in three sessions: 8:30-11:30 a.m.; 12:00-3:00 p.m.; 3:30-6:30 p.m. Two hundred more cultural events will be presented in the evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Parque Central and the Teresa Carreno Theater.

Throughout the week, tens of thousands of youth will occupy two encampments ar Parque Los Caobos in downtown Caracas and Parque Vinicio Adames, south of the city ... both will have necessary sanitary facilities, food and even internet access. Ten permanent thematic-solidarity marquees, including the Casa Cuba, Via Campesina, Pueblos de Mercosur (Cuba House, Campesina Way, Peoples of Mercosur) are located at Parque Vargas and Parque Los Caobos.

Edgardo Lander, a member of the organizing committee says “we will be able to visit the entire world without leaving the city … to learn of the resistance, and meet the people.”

Lander also said that President Chavez is scheduled to appear at two events: one that is open to the general public and the other in closed session. On Friday (January 27), the President will address approximately 18,000 at the Poliedro stadium and will also attend the closing of the World Assembly of Social Movements where he will be presented with the results of the Assembly's 5-day work session and participate in dialogue with the Assembly. Rumors that other Latin American presidents are to be present are said, officially, to be without foundation ... "so-far no other Head of State is expected," says Lander.

Go figure. I thought she, like the rest of the "anti-war" movement, were just concerned patriotic Americans, not communists in tye-dye drag.

What? No more freedom of speech in the US? - You people sure have lost a lot of freedoms over your illegal invasion. My condolences.
Who are the " third world communists"?

Hugo Chavez?

Is this the guy giving away home heating oil at cost to the east coast?

Maybe Cindy will come back with some oil, then everyone will be happy ............except those who want oil prices to remain high to continue record profits.

$50 to fill up your Porsche...............think about this.

With as much as she has been heard, it should be obvious that nobody has taken away her right to speak.

That same right we enjoy were in the US is what makes it possible to call her an idiot.

Why do people think freedom of speech means people should be allowed to spout off with no criticism or consequence?!!?!?! It only means the gov't. cannot punish you. Tell your boss to f*ck off and then scream "freedom of speech" when you get canned. People who say and do stupid things that offend or irritate millions of their countrymen can expect to hear plenty of criticism. It is not even close to government abridgement of freedom of speech. Oh and btw, doing so while on foreign soil is doubly reprehensible.

It must be confusing being a Democrat or a liberal. In the liberal mind Bush is a dangerous dictator, but Chavez aint so bad. In the liberal mind the oil companies are polluters, but with Chavez not so. In the liberal mind Bush is bought and paid for by his "oil cronnies", Chavez on the other hand IS the oil crony...In the liberal mind Bush is more of a threat than terrorism...In the liberal mind Christianity is more dangerous than Islamofascism.

Freedom of Speech is still alive and well. Nobody is censoring her in the US, although since she is speaking in Caracas, perhaps she will be censored in the press there.

Cindy Sheehan certainly has her own political views and agenda that are separate from that of her dead son, (and that I may not agree with entirely), but it does not make her wrong about Iraq. Obviously, it would have been better for the anti-war movement if they had a more demure military Mom camped outside Bush's ranch, like say maybe a moderate Republican who doesn't talk much, but Rove and the RNC/talk radio would still have managed to slander her. It just would not have been so easy.

As for Chavez and the rest of the leftist leaders getting elected in Latin America, better get used to it. The traditional choice down there has been either a socialist or a right-wing dictator. When free/democratic elections occur, the socialist wins most of the time. It's hard to get the masses behind the right-wing dictator. Maybe Rove needs to open a school down there for campaign managers, show them how to hang a bogus child-molester charge on their opponent, that sort of thing. :)

I despise everything she says, does, and stands for.

I have, and have since grown accustomed to it. Now I think about how it cost me $85 to fill up on track days when I mix five gallons of 100 octane.

Sheehan posing with Chavez is so red herring its folly...or fodder depending on whose side you sit.

Anyway, who cares about Chavez? Soon enough we'll overthrow him just like Pat Robertson says we should. ;)

You're very confused, M-dose.

Joeaksa 01-23-2006 10:20 PM

Mul,

Slopat has already taken over for Ramsey. Just waiting for the news report to make it to the media.

Again, would rather be confused than delusional like Pat.

Is it true that you and M-dose were separated at birth, Joe? Is that why your as confused as M-dose, even though (and I trust you on this) you're in a different time zone than he is?
