Have you ever watched Inside the Actor's Studio?
Saw another great episode tonight. This time it was about Elton John. Man, that guy's a great talent. Learned to play piano by ear at age 6. He writes the melodies while his songwriting partner Bernie Taupin writes the lyrics. The successful partnership has been going on since '71, I think. He's the Mozart of our time, IMHO.
Another show I saw a while back was about Robin Williams. That's guy's another special human being. Funny as hell just about every time he opens his mouth. When talent was being doled out, these two guys went back for seconds. |
Those guys are pretty amazing. I'm not a big Elton fan, but there are several of his songs that I keep around. You know the world is running out of talent when one of the most popular shows is American Idol. Sadly, my generation is lapping it all up.
The last time I got chills while listening to a song, I was at a Bluegrass festival. :( |
I thought Bernie stopped writing his stuff years ago.

I actually love the show. A couple of guys here told me about the show and so far I have seen the Robin Williams one, part of the Elton John one, the Simpsons one, and this past weekend Everybody Loves Raymond.

The ep with the Simpsons' cast was amazing. Hank Azaria is awesome.

Seen several but Robin Williams was a thrill a minute! The host was absolutely lost interviewing Robin!
Johnny Depp was also very interesting. |

Kind of a modern day "This is your life". Alan Alda and Jonathan Winters were good interviews also.

Am I the only one who can see the fecal stains on Lipton's nose?
|
Yes you are, you must be up close and personal:)
|
just b/c lipton is overboard w/ himself it doesn't diminish the fact that it's a good and informative show. the insight he draws out of people is very interesting and often entertaining.
and it's fun to see snl make fun of it too! :D |
Scrumtalicious!

I've been watching ITAS for about 3 years now, its one of my favorite shows of all time.
Lipton IMO is one of the finest interviewers ever to grace the business. He's so patient with his guests, respectful, endearing, caring. You get the impression that he really loves the people he's talking to and wants to do his best to share them with the world. I just saw the Jamie Fox episode the other day, really great. Other great ones include Johnny Depp, Martin Sheen, De Niro, the list goes on and on. |
i remember the depp interview, it was great.
another memorable one was kevin spacey, especially when he had him do impersonations of other actors. very funny. |
