I have a bunch of parking tickets that I threw in the trash from about 1971 in Ithica, NY. I had IN plates at that time. Never heard a thing about them since, never paid either. Of course I haven't been back to Ithica since that time. Maybe I shouldn't ever go back???

What RL says is true, DC has way more serious crimes to worry about than speeding and traffic citations. If the cops won't do anything when your car gets stolen, you think they care about a $60 or $100 ticket? Besides they already got their hands full chasing down crack heads and crack pushers.

If you owe the gov money you have a lot more to worry about than the crack dealer does. The police aggressively track down traffic scofflaws, because it makes money and most traffic violators do not shoot back. On the other hand the crack dealer just cost the gov money and with some of them shooting back, who wants to deal with it?
