F1 Tours - worth the money?
My brother and I are toying with going to the USGP this year.
Should webuy our own tickets and hotel rooms? Or should we book a tour? The prices run about $1000-$1400 they include, breakfast, room, transportation to and from the track, seats down by turn 1, full access at the track and a cocktail party with guest speaker. Has anyone done this? Pro's or cons? Is it worth the money?

my folks did the tour to the f-1 races at indy in 03 & 04 in a tour package and loved it. its not just the tickets and lodging, they had dinners with drivers (not any big wigs of that time, but did get to meet alfonso in 03 before he hit it huge), and my pops had him sign a renault hat) and other after hour events. they were bused to and fro the event, with no traffic or parking hassles. don't think they'd do it any other way now.
they opted out of 05 for various reasons, and were glad they did!

I do not think '06 will be a repeat of '05 with the tires. There is no way that can happen twice. Plus 1/2 the teams are on Bridgestone now.
Thanks for the info. It sounds like its a good deal. There are 2 companies offering. Which one is better? Formula Tours: http://www.formulatours.com/eng/gp_hotelsinformation.aspx?EventID=GPUSA&HotelID=Amerisuites Or GP Tours: http://www.gptours.com/new/race.php/id/6098/USGP
