Question about PayPal

I have an item listed on ebay. I took the item to the local Quick Drop here in town.

I requested that they post a link to the online users manual (http://www.peavey.com/media/pdf/manuals/80304427.pdf)
Because I do not like their write up. I think they did a half ass job of describing the item!

They then sent me this:
Paypal prohibits any links to other sites. They end auctions for violating that policy

Is this true? I have never heard this before.

Here is the auction # if any of you are interested #7385438072
I will not let this go for $41.00 I will make up a fake account if thats what it takes.

It seems to me that you were pretty much screwed the second you decided to use a third-party auction service.

Sounds like bolshevek to me. I've run auctions with links to other sites with no hassles.

How deep does this QuikDrop outfit bugger you for their services? I noticed they want $70 shipping to the auction winner.

Once an item has bids, I don't think Paypal or anyone else can end this auction without some kind of proven fraud or blatant misrepresentation.

Generally if you have a minimum price in mind, either you state a reserve or start the auction at that price point.

Keep in mind that most bidding action takes place in the last couple hours if they are competing bidders. Then again, you can never be sure unless there is known demand for an item.

edit: because there is so much time left, eBay may let you end the auction because of an "error in the listing".

Any seller can end an Ebay auction when they wish, but believe that within the last 24 hours its not possible.

I have seen links posted in various Ebay auctions, the sellers are BS'ing you ... Why did you let someone else sell anything? Its easy and then YOU have control.

Most people think selling on evilBay is difficult. There is a tutorial that leads you thru it step-by-step. I never understood why these services where you drop stuff off were flourishing.

I get people asking me to sell stuff for them all the time knowing I sell a lot of bike parts online. I will usually walk them thru the first one on their own.

End the auction, and do it yourself if you can stop it.
