Wow, step away from office for an hour and look what happens!
Now to the issue at hand. I will start with an example. I am a principal of my firm. I have expressed "support" for Cindy Sheehan (in the early stages before she got whacked out). I have written things indicating my "support" for her early leadership in the anti-war movement. I think she was brave to be out front on the issue before anyone else. I think she saw something early on that many of us did not, and had the courage of her convictions. For that I applaud her. And she was and is right about this war (but that’s another subject). Because I am a principal of my firm and have expressed support for Sheehan, does that mean that my firm "supports" Cindy Sheehan? Absolutely not. Now, has Dean written nice things about Sheehan? Without checking the quotes above, it would not surprise me for a moment that Dean has agreed with Sheehan. Dean is a critic of the war. Sheehan is a critic of the war. If Joe had claimed that Howard Dean or a thousand other politicos had written in support of Sheehan, I wouldhave no problem with that. Does the DNC "support" Cindy Sheehan? Absolutely not. This will not please the “there’s a simple linear answer to every question crowd,” so tear me apart. But Dean writing nice things about Sheehan does not mean that the DNC supports Sheehan. It means that Dean has written nice things about Sheehan. I could give you a hundred quotes from Senators and Congressmen praising Sheehan. Does the Senate “support” Sheehan? Does the House? NO. The political committees in this country express “support” for candidates and ideas by endorsements, by issuing formal declarations of support, and by giving them money. The DNC does not support Sheehan by any real-world standard. |
Rodeo, in your example above, while supporting Sheehan individually, would you put your endorsement on your firm's website?
|
The problem with that being that they are purposely posted on the official DNC website.

This one is so obvious it's pathetic. But it's fun to watch Rodeo try and tap-dance his way out anyways...
The above posters hit the nail on the head. Individual support is one thing. When it is the firm's president writing the support AND that support is front and center on the firm's official website....well...uh....that's supporting her..... |

All I freaking did one sentence, asking when the DNC supported, the next sentence, was stating I was under the impression it was individuals, and laughed, and all hell broke loose and I'm "this" and "that." I didn't even have a chance to respond about it being Dean. God, how stupid. |

Just be honest. |

The truth is, this is ALL silly. Talking about Cindy Sheehan is like talking about Paris Hilton. She's a NOTHING, a NOBODY. She's irrelevant. I really could give a crap about Paris, and I could really give a crap about Sheehan. I just got tired of Rodeo asking over and over so I reiterated the question, then I laughed when I thought it was individuals. The truth is, I genuinely don't care either way about that woman. How often do you see me even talking about her? It's like talking about the Olsen twins! Irrelevant and unimportant. |

Lendaddy: See sweety, this is why I don't take you seriously. I'de ask you to try to keep up as well, but I know your limits Came before what you highlighted. And WTF is wrong with my statement you highlighted which AFTER the above anyway? It's true! |
Honesty is the best policy.... :)
Paris is hot.... :D |

Because that's what they put on TV. That's what they put in the rags at the checkout line. Because the people who control the media also control what we buy and how we should think. 'We' meaning the poulation in general. And it's working. Otherwise you wouldn't be asking the question. Sorry Len. I got the last word! [invisible smiley] SmileWavy |
