It's the SOTU drinking game!

You take a drink every time you hear:

9/11

Iraqi people

Freedom

Take a bonus shot when you hit the trifecta:

Terrorist

Security

Troops

Special reward of your choice:

Nook yullur [sic]

I'm pretty sure you're opening yourself to lawsuits based on over-intoxication leading to death given the groundrules on the game.

Gosh, Shaun, did you interpret 'drinking' to mean consumption of intoxicating beverages?

:-)

aways 01-31-2006 06:35 PM

I'd have played, but I've already had too much to drink celebrating the confirmation of (Sc)Alito :D

JonT 01-31-2006 06:49 PM

If you really had balls you'd take a sip every time Georgie blinked!

red-beard 01-31-2006 07:13 PM

How about a "social' everytime the president is interupted with applause.

cool_chick 01-31-2006 07:16 PM

Oh man, I'm glad I didn't play...they'd be taking me to the hospital for alcohol poisoning by now....

aways 01-31-2006 07:38 PM

All the usual suspects are angry and full of petty insults about the SOTU address. That's the best evidence yet that he did a masterful job of making the Dems look like losers.

red-beard 01-31-2006 07:41 PM

Yes, but it would have been worse with Clinton, since his speeches were longer

Would that have meant death by alcohol poisoning?

LOL

Though I don't remember being able to predict words he'd say like this....he'd at least change his speech by year....

People were literally saying this afternoon what Bush would be saying, which came true.....

red-beard 01-31-2006 07:47 PM

Yeah, but they were given excerpts of the speech.

Were they? Is this new?

Dude, we've been playing this "drinking game" since the debates. In fact, the words in that "game" over a year ago are the same.....

If you're a betting man, it's a guarantee win.

red-beard 01-31-2006 07:54 PM

Hmmm. Maybe I should get some dice and we all should play 'Mexican" in Vegas. It would be way too much trouble to bring the table and play 'beer pong'!

red-beard 01-31-2006 07:55 PM

Yeah, the talking heads were giving "quotes" from the speech before it was given.

No, not new at all, ask Rick Lee. Loads of people have copies of the speech ahead of time. No way for the other side to get a rebuttal worked up right after the SOTU speech ends.

mede8er 02-01-2006 05:07 AM

Speaking of rebuttal...the Dems obviously played the wrong tape, and instead we got a 'Welocome to Virginia' speech issued by the Chamber of Commerce.......

He was aweful, I felt bad for him. Not only was the content all over the place and unfollowable by non Virginia residents, his speed was waaaayyy too slow. I can't believe none of his aids gave him the "speed it up" sign or something. Poor bastid.
