Is Iran taking a page from Venezuela's playbook
Seems like the Iranians are trying an, "Us against the World" thing with the Nuke Power. Sort of like Chavez and some of the things he says and does with respect to the US in particular. It just seems to me that if it is working for the Venezuelan President to maintain and consolodate power, anyone else see this as a way for Iran's administration to get their people to pull together. (I am not even going to point out prewar Germany, because I don't want this to degenerate into a Muslims are not Nazis discussion, though that is entirely possible)

Iran has 3 cards to play: China, Russia and of course Iraq. It was really helpful of us to give them a democratically elected radical Islamic government with close ties to and support from Tehran.
if you aren't with us, you are against us.

There will be mounting cooperation among these non-aligned countries to stop US government hegemony as the years go by.
Look for more of them to go nuclear soon. Although many countries have signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, some of them will withdraw as the US government continues to threaten them with invasion, covert warfare, or economic sanction. |
