Yep, her conviction for purposely drowning her five children (God Told her to) has been overturned and she will be re-tried. She is being re-leased on Bail. This is insane!

When she's released she'll be taken straight to the mental hospital in Rusk, Texas. No danger to the public. When they asked the prosecuter if he thought she was a danger to the public, he said yes, he had never meet anyone that had killed 5 people. I think that's insane. She is no more of a threat than I am. She's just crazy. If she had more kids, that would be another story.

IMO if there ever was anyone who needed mental help more than prison, she is the person. We as rational thinking people cannot comprehend how she could kill her 5 children. This would seem to indicate that she does not function in the same reality as we do. It is tragic and horrible what happened. THe state was asking for the death penalty in the earlier part of the trial, and that would be even more tragic and horrible.

I don't have any problem with the death penalty. I live in Harris county Texas, the nations leading county in death penalty convictions and executions. I do not think that putting the mentally ill to death is right. She fits the criteria for being mentally ill. Gang bangers, child killers, murder for hire, kill them all. I'm pretty adept at starting IV and would volunteer my skills to put some of these animals down. Mentally ill should not be executed. just my opinion.

I heard the NPR report on this a few months ago - took off her meds by her husband because the mother-in law wanted more grandchildren, the husband wanted more kids, and the preist was in on it too. She was let in a trailer to go nuts and it's nobody elses fault?

The woman needed help and still needs help - her kids paid the price for arrogance and ignorance.

I hate to tell you but anyone that murders someone in cold blood is insane.

Gang banger = insane
Child killers = insane
Hitmen = insane

Have you ever considered a murderer to be sane?

I think the death penalty should be reserved for those that gain something from the murder. She tried to off herself on at least 2 occasions prior to killing the kids, she was sick sick sick and needed help. She is not free to roam the streets and will be put in a mental hospital for the rest of her days. Rusk state hospital is not a picnic. If we kill them all and let god sort it out, we may not like how He picks and choses when it comes our time.
