So...Sanmarcos the fruitcake lady passed a background check and got a gun....
Read in the paper that the nutjob was able to pass a background check, buy a gun despite and kill my neighbors despite having spent time in a psych hospital and being known as a nutcase.....
While "I"...have to wait to purchase ammo, buy a weapon, get on a plane because of these *******s.....the laws are on the books but the holes are a mile wide...... Information released on the Goleta mail killer shows all this information that is seized by the PD and Sherrifs in at least two diferrent states....but information coming FROM the Feds or the Sherrif....nothing..... She spent time in a psych ward paid for by the Feds....where that? She spent time as a Sherrif dispatch, where's that? She bought a gun from a pawn shop in New Mexico.....THAT is all over.....she spent time in LA, has a credit card, sold a Goleta condo, made 200K, bought a place in NM, was paid for by a bank transfer from New ******* Jersey.....we got all that...where's everything else?

Thanks....just pissed that the Feds are holding back on the rest of the information....if this lady had proper help she wouldn't have been on the street and had meds to control the voices.
If the laws that are ON THE BOOKS NOW were working she couldn't have bought a gun.....as a result of people NOT doing there jobs, more laws that won't work are likely to be passed..... I'm just agitated...read all the info on her before I went out to wrench on my trans that blew second gear last night.....got to thinking as to what was missing in the article.....

Mike,
You are correct, there are more than enough laws to keep the crazy or convicted ones from owning a weapon, but they slip through. Unfortunately in this case its close to home. Sorry to see it happen and wish CA would work a bit on the concealed weapon laws. Had one person in the PO had a sidearm it would have ended a lot better. joe
