LA Terror Plot?

I'm surprised nobody has brought this up yet. I figured some of the Bush'ist Party loyalist would be jumping up and down yelling 'told you so!,' but maybe even they can tell the story is a festering pile of bovine excrement and don't want to step in it. Kinda like the conveniently timed NYC "subway terror plot"

I read a quote from Hermann Goering the other day that I am sure will be told is taken out of context and has no relevance to the current administration etc., but none the less I found it interesting:

"Why, of course, the people don't want war," Goering shrugged. "Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece. Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship."

"There is one difference," Gustave Gilbert pointed out. "In a democracy the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars."

"Oh, that is all well and good," Goering replies, "but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

Hate to say it as something between a moderate republican and conservative democrat (WTF?) but this story stunk like BS to me as well.

However it is a no-brainer to me that L.A. is prime terrorist target material, too. To think otherwise is something between naive and suicidal...

I had to check this for accuracy, it's so relevant that it almost seems manufactured.

It's not manufactured. It's a true and accurate quote, uttered 60 years ago.

I hope our country wakes up soon.

Um as far as strike two....you might want to see what the Mayor had to say after he bothered to , take a moment, pull his head out of his a$$, check the facts. He and his staff where notified. That just didn't get as much press as him trying to make the administration look bad despite the fact he was misinformed about what he was speaking on
