Looking for large diameter plastic tube in LA
I'm looking for a plastic or acetate cylinder or tube for a home project. Ideally, the tube would have a 6-12 inch diameter and enough thickness that it could stand on its own on end in with a 18-24 inches length.
The best analogy I can think of is a clear plastic umbrella stand. The closest I've found are glass vases that people put stones or sand or branches in for decoration. I don't want to pay that much $$ and don't need anything so flawless. Rugged is OK. I'm in the LA area and have to believe that I can find someplace in LA that makes them and/or has leftover lengths from larger jobs. Industrial places that I've found on the web want far more $$ than I'm willing to pay. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks very much, Kevin

Kevin,
If it doesn't have to be really fancy, have you thought about buying a section of plastic water/sewer pipe at H.D. or Lowes and cutting it? If it must be clear, that wouldn't work for you. Do pet stores that have fancy plastic containers to keep in fish have something like that?

Good thoughts. I didn't see anything of that diameter at Home Depot that was clear. I haven't looked at other home supply centers though. Hadn't thought about the pet store angle. That's a great suggestion - I never would have thought to look there.
Thanks very much
