Nail in the Democrat coffin?

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence is studying 12 hours of audio recordings between Saddam Hussein and his top advisers that may provide clues to the whereabouts of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction.

**snip**

Mr. Loftus will make the recordings available to the public on February 17 at the annual meeting of the Intelligence Summit, of which he is president. On the organization's Web site, Mr. Loftus is quoted as promising that the recordings "will be able to provide a few definitive answers to some very important - and controversial - weapons of mass destruction questions." Contacted yesterday by The New York Sun, Mr. Loftus would only say that he delivered a CD of the recordings to a representative of the committee, and the following week the committee announced that it was reopening the investigation into weapons of mass destruction.

Not that WMD matter, it was a terrorism issue.

No, if this dead horse truly dies, we will see the lefties change their tune and focus on some other attempt at diminishing the war and GW...There will be a lot of egg on the face of the lefties.

I think the horse is still twitching, must be the continuous animation by media defibrillator.

According to the democrats, the republicans are devious people who will mislead at the drop of the hat. It makes perfact sense that the republicans will offer a 11th hour find of wmd. What can be more devious? In any case the democrats are screwed, especially if wmd are confirmed. So if the democrats beleive their own crap, they will be really screwed, if not things haven't changed, democrats are still screwed. as they have taken the side of the terrorists, so they cannot win.

Well,

There is more than a little bit of info out there about the WMD being smuggled out of Iraq.

What did Saddam do with his front line jet fighters when Gulf War 1 hit? He sent them to Iran, and they are "keeping them for him." Well sort of, 15 years later they still are keeping them safe for him that is.

Of course none of this will convince the liberals and Rodehard. They feel that the WMD never existed, even when Saddam was trying to smuggle in the machines that make fissionable bomb material as well as the components to work with gasses.

Oh forgot, and he never gassed the Kurdish city in the North, it was all just made up like when the US did not land on the moon, it was all done in a sound studio in Hollywood.

Libs, put your heads back in the sand... We will tell you when its safe to come out again.

Ask any military officer that knows weapons and he'll tell you that there are only one kind of what's now known as WMD's that really are wepons of mass destruction, nukes. It's strange that for all but a few of my 25+ years of military experience, the three special weapon groups, nuclear, biological, and chemical, were known as NBC weapons, or simply Special Weapons. The term WMD was coined during the Clinton administration to cast a more sinister tone on these unique, specialized weapons.

You can also ask any commander whether, given a choice, he'd opt for chemical rounds or conventional artillery rounds and he'd tell you that for 95% of combat operations, conventional rounds are much more valuable. Chemical weapons have uses over a very narrow range of scenarios. The trenches of World War One, and when the US Navy requested their use against Japanese troops in caves and tunnels on certain islands in the Pacific during World War Two, they were turned down and consequently US troop casualties were much higher.

There has been an investigation of that event which occured during the Iraq-Iran war, not after 1991 like the Bush'ists like to claim. That investigation was unable to determine which of the two warring countries actually did the deed since both were conducting combat operations in the area and both were using chemical weapons during the operation. The Iranians occupied the town at one point, as did the Iraqi Army.

The Kurdish town in question is Halabja and the Iranians most certainly did not occupy it when it was shelled with mustard gas. If they had, I doubt they would have shelled it, since the Kurds hated Saddam as much as anyone did. I don't even think Saddam ever denied this one.

Rick, I didn't say that the Iranians occupied it when it was shelled, read what I wrote again.

Further, the Kurds hate everyone that's not Kurd; that includes Turks who hold most of the Kurdish land, Iranians who hold a large portion of it, and any non-Kurd Iraqi. Hatred among Kurdish clans is often deadly. One of the past commanders of my hospital was got a rifle butt to the face, and other Kurds were killed, by a Kurd clan that felt it wasn't getting enough of the goodies being spread around in northern Iraq by US occupation forces in 1991-92.

Pat, there is no doubt Saddam had WMD and was looking to have the biggest ME arsenal on the block. We just so happened to catch him soddamizing some terrorists who had a history of delivering death to American shores and satellites...We vacated the tyrant, freed the people and have made a new sport out slaughtering the spawn of Mohammed, descendents of Ishmael.

You remind me of the witch from the Wizard of Oz, after the bucket of water was poured on her head.

Looks like you're in the middle of some kind of spiritual epiphany, Mul-berry, better seek a guide.

Otherwise, you're gibberish will make people point and stare.

Interesting how all socialists, fascist and otherwise, see sexuality in everything. Particularly homosexuality.

Quote common really; I'd suggest professional help, and failing that, self examination of your motives.

Back in basic training, we had a dufus guy that was always falling begind on the runs, forgetting to lock his wall locker, falling asleep on fire gaurd duty etc etc. He ended up receiving plenty of blanket parties and by the end of basic training he did not speak well of the military.

His name was Pat also. hmmmm..... No it couldnt be!

Private loses legs, genitals after brutal blanket party
Quote:
January 28, 2006

HE begged his family to take him home for the New Year holiday. But the military base was too remote, the weather too harsh.

'What shall I do here?' he cried to his sister down the crackling phone line. 'I am sick of looking at these drunken bastards.'

On New Year's Eve, 18-year-old serviceman Andrei Sychev's worst fears about what his bored, drunk campmates were capable of came true.

He was subjected to an assault so savage that it beggars belief.

Private Sychev was beaten, tortured and raped for hours, and then left lying unattended and in agony for days before being belatedly taken to hospital.

By then, his injuries were so severe that his legs and genitals had to be amputated.

Now, he is fighting for his life in hospital. Pte Sychev was set upon on New Year's Eve at the remote Chelyabinsk Tank Academy in the Ural Mountains about 1,900km east of Moscow.

Older soldiers forced him to spend hours in an awkward crouched position and then brutally beat him, according to Russian newspaper reports.

The daily Vremya Novostei newspaper quoted an unidentified military officer as saying that Pte Sychev had also been raped for several hours.

By the time he was taken to hospital days later, he was unable to speak or stand.

Military prosecutors are probing why the doctors at the academy did not treat him at the scene.

They said that at least seven other conscripts were beaten in the same incident, but sustained less serious injuries.

Compounding the anguish for Pte Sychev's family, they were informed of the incident only after he had undergone his first amputation.

'Why didn't anyone tell me, 'Come here, your son is in grave condition?' ' asked a sobbing Mrs Galina Sychev on Russian television.

She said that her critically ill son had scribbled the name of his cruelest tormentor on a piece of paper.

Eight servicemen, including several officers, have been detained at the academy over the incident, according to media reports.

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov vowed to punish the culprits.

'We won't cover anything or anyone up,' he said yesterday.

But rights groups are unconvinced.

'As long as officers don't regard conscripts as humans and their lives, health and dignity aren't worth anything to them, such things will continue,' Madam Valentina Melnikova, leader of the Union of Committees of Soldiers' Mothers, said on Russian radio. - AP.
