Typically the Canada customs are smooth sailing, don't offer up any info that is not asked off. I don't think you will even be asked about Prescription drugs or anything.
NAFTA free trade does help in this reguard no visa required.
Leave you hand guns at home and hope you enjoy some cold weather.
Good luck

I live in Canada and have travelled to the US and back many times. I don"t think you will have any problems. I've never been asked about prescription drugs etc. I"m not sure about your instruments and what value they would have. Probably phoning Canada Customs in Calgary
(1-800-4619999) may provide some clarification(or confusion!).

I've been to Toronto and I don't believe you. :p

Careful with the birth certificate thing. When I got married, we did a cruise from Vancouver up to Alaska. Canadian customs lady didn't think a Puerto Rican birth certificate indicated US citizenship...

can you bring me back some cigars from Cuba?

Only 2 touques per person
amount of backbacon cannot exceed body wieght
minimum of 2 doz. donuts must be purchased on the Canadian side
saying "eh" will get you deported to Quebec
If border agent asks reason for visit do NOT say "drugs", say "moose, beaver," or "muskie"
Pickrel is a fish and is not dill or kosher.
Ask every RCMP officer where his red shirt and horse are.
Then ask which McKenzie is his favorite, if they reply "Bob" tell them "Doug', if they reply "Doug" tell them "Bob"

Seriously--passport or photo ID and birth cert.

Canada is great. Nice people, excellent fishing/hunting, and hot women in the "clubs".;)
