170mph crash- not pretty stuff

The aftermath of a motorcycle crash. Probably not good viewing on a full stomach.. This is going around some bike forums again as a pre season reminder to use your brain. This brain function should probably be used when in our 4 wheel toys too!

Well then link a link back to the motorcycle forum... sorry I suck at this interweb stuff

Very EFFIN disturbing images guys. Keep the women and children away!

masraum 02-21-2006 06:17 PM

Seen it before, I think it's a couple of years old, but not pretty no matter what.

If you can make light of a terrible thing, one guy posted "is his bike for sale, I need a project."

Personally I don't find someone trying to lighten the mood offensive.

jriera 02-21-2006 06:23 PM

Not pretty ... but very much a graphic example on why two objects cannot ocuppy the same place at the same time

WOODPIE 02-21-2006 06:24 PM

Wow, that link makes my stomach hurt.

That was one nasty spill, huh?

Tyson Schmidt 02-21-2006 07:04 PM

There is no way I'm clicking on that link.

I need my competitive edge at the track, and that "requires a certain....... lack of imagination" to quote Yves Montand from 'Gand Prix'.

I still get uneasy when I think about the pics of the Ferrari crash in Brazil from 4 years ago.

speeder 02-21-2006 07:59 PM

I've seen one for real like that, not as high velocity but the rider was in more than one piece and the bike absolutely exploded. Like someone's avitar says, can't argue w/ physics.

Some pretty dark humor on that forum, like "wonder what was the last thing to go through his mind?....."

Mulhollanddose 02-21-2006 08:16 PM

Brazil, if I am not mistaken.

HardDrive 02-21-2006 09:05 PM

Wow. Turned the poor SOB into meat.

sixbanger 02-22-2006 06:16 AM

What kind of bike was it?I think a good lawer could make a case out of this from the maker of the bike.

jriera 02-22-2006 07:06 AM

or against the tree builder !!! :-)

When people say "How could you be the Safety Consultant on Jackass-The Movie?" I say you should hear about what we didn't let them do!!

dhoward 02-22-2006 09:40 AM

So...fireworks shot from you anus is an acceptable safety risk?
:D :D :D

Hugh R 02-22-2006 09:46 AM

Actually, they did that on their own in Japan and they didn't want to bring me along, that was an impromptu scene, as were many others where I wasn't along. Also, if you look closely, they are quite drunk, ditto for the paper cut scenes.

12own911 02-22-2006 12:36 PM

I'd hate to be the guy that had to clean up that mess....

speeder 02-22-2006 01:14 PM

If you were a Marine in Iraq, that type of clean up would be commonplace. Not meant to be political, just a fact. Combat vets make the best Medical Examiner van drivers.

i pitty that guy more then the dead guy , at least he died with his boots on having fun , didn't see it coming and lights out 2 secs later... that's not a bad way to go, beats choking in yer own vomit anyday

Usmellgass2? 02-22-2006 01:19 PM

I guess they don't call'em zoom splats fer nothin

Rodeo 02-22-2006 01:34 PM

Well the blaze and noise boy, he's gunnin' that ***** loaded to blastin' point
He rides head first into a hurricane and disappears into a point
And there's nothin' left but some blood where the body fell
That is, nothin' left that you could sell
just junk all across the horizon, a real highwayman's farewell
And he said "Hey kid, you think that's oil? Man, that ain't oil that's blood"
I wonder what he was thinking when he hit that storm
Or was he just lost in the flood?

R.I.P. dude. At least you were doing something you loved.

Rick V 02-22-2006 03:49 PM

Thanks for the rather graphic smack in the face with reality.

Tyson Schmidt 02-22-2006 05:46 PM

Well, since I have decided not to watch it, can someone describe it for me? Was it on the street?

KevinP73 02-22-2006 05:58 PM

It was still pics of the accident scene. Rider was literally torn into several pieces. Very graphic pictures showing upper torso still in jacket while lower body was not present. What appeared to be an arm or a leg lying beside helmet and boot. Head was seperated into two just above the nose.

dafischer 02-22-2006 06:09 PM

G-forces and inanimate objects tend to leave a mark on the human body at 174 mph.

5axis 02-22-2006 06:13 PM

Do you think seeing those pics will make difference in your behavior? In recent years I have slowed down a bit on the street and will probably take it back another notch. The thought of becoming several chunks of hamburger really does not bother ME too much. I would not want my family to have to collect those leftovers. I guess we need to make choices we can live or die with and not kid ourselves because that is what we do. My track season starts in a few months and I will be throwing it down as hard and fast as I can. Being immortal has it's advantages :)

I take it you have never set foot in ogrish.com...Keep it that way.

Tyson Schmidt 02-22-2006 07:22 PM

Thanks for the description. I thought it was a video. I have too much empathy to deal with watching someone die live. The still pics I can handle.

Tyson Schmidt 02-22-2006 07:24 PM

O.K., yeah that was gruesome, but I've seen worse.

Poor bastard...... R.I.P.

Argeo 02-23-2006 06:52 AM

It will change my driving habits. Not that I drive fast to begin with but I will now save my speeding for autocrosses.

Thanks for the slap of reality.

Just the mention of that site reduces my appetite.
