Bode Miller

Anyone else find this guy embarassing?

gassy 02-25-2006 12:22 PM

yup.

scottmandue 02-25-2006 12:35 PM

Welllllll... I kind of blame the dumb-a$$ media for hyping the guy like he was superman and saturating us with pictures and stories about him before the Olympics even started. They practically guaranteed he was going to bring home the medals.

But yeah, not the brightest bulb on the tree as it were. I mean this was a major career opportunity for him. You think he could have stopped parting for a few weeks for the chance to become a millionaire.

But unfortunately then there is no shortage of famous people in America flushing their lives down the toilet.

He is an embarassment or sure, as is the skater Weir. A late bus screwed up his aura?

I gotta hand it to Bode, he skies better when drunk than I do when sober.

The new Ms. Team USA is Sasha Cohen, one of a very few reasons I'd ever watch figure skating.

That's code for "let's all post pics." ;)

He's a great skier. But he is a terrible representive for this country. You could argue that he's an althlete, not an ambassador, but I don't buy it. It the olympics for cryin' out loud. If your a jack ass off the slopes, could you at least keep your mouth shut and not show up getting drunk in all the bars for a WEEK?!?!?

Bode is what Americans want to see, according to studio execs. Miller seems to be semi-dysfunctional. Youngsters have always been crazy, but in the past this behavior was discouraged. Today, this behavior is featured on prime-time TV.

I suppose it could be worse. At least he's not Pakistani. :p

Great skier? Perhaps a just a good skier. Or maybe he was a great skier. Over rated? Over hyped? Over! I think he is the biggest flop of the Olympics.

Oh hell yeah.
Previous to Sasha, the only other skater I ever dr00led  over was Ekaterina Gordeeva, a Russian from the '88 and '94 games. Gold in both.

Sorry about the pic size.
Although...she does need to eat a few cheesburgers, she's hothothot.

I found it humorous when he said he did not come to Torino to be a champion.

He's an embarassment because the Olympics are all about representing your country. He wasn't there for the USA but for himself.

Flatbutt1 02-26-2006 11:44 AM

At least he could have shaved! What a freakin' bum. The alleged"neanderthals" known as snowboarders did a much better job of shining a favorable light on US athletics. No excuses, no embarassing behaviors and rather self effacing when they screwed up.
