Yep...and the Cannondale was blue and white.

Ever notice that sometimes the fork on the Klien is turned backwards?

You guys are starting to sound like trekies at a convention talking about a specific prop or episode.

I agree with gary (Pelican arcsine), give the celebs a break. They are just regular Porsche people also and most want some free time to enjoy without paparazzi attack.

I realize part of Hollywood is to be seen; there is another side of life. The Porsche guys In LA should non-organize getting together just to talk Porsche. No “photo-ops” or “sound bites” just nice intense Porsche stuff.

I like talking Porsche and I don’t care if it is a 19-year old first 924, someone with a 917 or an RS Spyder sponsor – I’ll give equally lame advice.

Best,
Grady

I hope Jerry lurks here. Since this is about the friendliest forum there is, I doubt he'd get much flak if he made himself known.

Here Here!!

Have run into a couple of celebs in the real world and never made a deal over it. Treated them like anyone else I would encounter in day to day life.

Grady is (what's new?) absolutely right. Give the celeb's a break. They're just guys like we are....and if their attitude is that they're not well, scr*w'em.

I sorta look at the guys on the board as "friends I haven't met yet". I like to think that if we lived closer to each other we'd be friends or at least friendly. And yes, sometimes a friend will piss you off. So what?

I like to think Jerry Seinfeld would be like that. I'll never meet the man and I'd be pleased to, but I wouldn't fawn over him. I'd ask him about his collection and generally have a good time....just like if I met one of you.

What state is the 959s plate from? Gotta be NY or CA......right?

CJFusco 02-28-2006 05:58 PM

Looks like CA

therotman 02-28-2006 06:04 PM

It's a CA plate.....I'm not sure what's on the G wagon

I just happened to watch the "red spot" (on the Cashmere sweater) episode last night and noticed Kramer sitting on the couch flipping thru what appeared to be an Excellence magazine.

Kids got me seasons 1-5 on DVD and I still crack up watching them. Few shows since can hold a candle to Seinfeld.

ken_xman 03-01-2006 05:51 AM

If Jerry is around.... and willing to hang with a bunch of car guys BS about cars, and feel free from "celebrity status" ... I'd bet he would have a blast on the Pelican Spring & Fall runs. I'd be most interested in what car he would bring.

legion 03-01-2006 06:12 AM

I was never a big 'Seinfeld' fan, but I read an article he wrote a few years back on the Carrera GT in Automobile (cleverly titled "Jerry Skids"), and he came across as a real person in the article.

IIRC, the first line of the article was: "Other than being a stand up comedian, I can't think of any job less important in life than being an automotive journalist."

And if you are not, come to Vegas anyway and meet the infamous me.

If Jerry is following this thread, I'd like to invite him to breakfast with the Orange Coast region of the PCA one of these months. Good people, very nice cars, and no hassle.

I saw him at dunkel's a few years ago but didn't bug him.

As far as the celebrity thing goes, all I would have to say to him is I enjoy his work, he is very good at it, and thanks for the entertainment. Nuff said.
Jay Leno shows up occasionally at a fun run or get together and no one hassles him, he's just another gear head that loves cars as much as we do.

Nathans_Dad 03-01-2006 06:34 AM

The real question is, if Jerry S. met CC in Vegas, would they consider each other to be "spongeworthy"??

vash 03-01-2006 09:08 AM

ok, TV nerds....what about that B/W photo that hangs near jerry's front door? is that a mary ellen mark photo? i have only seen a few episodes. is the superman reference true:?
