bicycle seats
It's supposed to hit 75 degrees all this week, so I'm finally going to go pick up a bicycle. A friend reminded me of an ABC program he saw that talked about bicyclists having a higher percentage of ED later on in life because of the seats... and that is something I definitely want to avoid.
Here's an article I just found about it: http://www.emedicine.com/sports/topic12.htm So, what kind of bike seats do you like?

I always figured the conservative-types didn't use seats...

So that's why my wife is always nagging me to ride the bicycle...

I use a gel seat specifically designed for men that has a large gap strategically placed.

I had bought the one that just has the two seperate pads that lets your "stuff" hang between them. Couldnt get used to it. Now I have a Specialized, with a Bell gel pad on it.

Some do have problems, but an overwhelming majority do not. Remember, you should also be wearing bike shorts when you ride, which has padding as well. I think a good pair of bike shorts should be on your buy list.
I ride with an arione and have been happy with it. Edit: Sorry, that would be an Airione seat.

I rode a bike with a gel seat for just a couple minutes, and couldn't stand it.
My bike still has the stock seat it came with, but it's getting pretty ratty, so it's about time to upgrade. |

I wear padded bike shorts - use them while motorcycle touring, too.
I read about ED before I bought my Lemond Buenos Aires. 'Got me sorta concerned, at first. Lem. B/A stock seat was too hard/uncomfy - replacement seat not much better. Rather than continuing to play musical seats, and not being a "weight weenie" nor an "animal", I broke down and bought the Brooks B-17 Champion Special, Honey/Copper Rails ($75). Mildly comfy at first - super comfy after break-in. I decided I wasn't concerned about ED.

If anyone needs a new split saddle, I've got an extra one, never used. Specialized Body Geometry. $25 plus shipping. It's got the space in just the right place.
