My Dad told me about some HS kid who came off the bench and popped 20 points in under 4 minutes for his HS Basketball team. Is this true? where can I find the deal-i-o?

In a movie theater near you in about a year. Hollywood is all over this kid for his story.

details, I need details...

All I know is the kid's autistic, was a walk-on; something like third string. A career bench warmer. I haven't paid that much attention to it.

Of course, my ears pricked when I heard about the "five or six" pending movie deals.

I thought WTF? That's a story worth a $10 movie ticket? :confused:

happened in houston i believe. autistic kid was the mascot..coach let him suit up, never intending to play him for the final game. well, he put him in the final few minutes and the rest is history. i think he hit 6 3-pointers in a row. hello hollywood, indeed..

My favorite part of the whole thing is that the student section cheered for him even before he made a shot. Finally some high school students showing some class.

Very touching story. Props to the coach for giving the kid a chance. And for the school for supporting him while he was on the court. :D

I had the same reaction when I saw the segment on Sports Center...the players are very supportive as well.

He was Team Manager all season I think.

6 out of 10 attempts is pretty freak'n good! I wonder how much coverage the other team put on him? Even if he had none it is still amazing.

as i recall, the other team hadn't quit playing. they just weren't trying to foul him beyond the 3-point stripe..
